Question on Decloak and Advance sensors

By MedicFett, in X-Wing Rules Questions

When using a phantom if you put advance sensors on the ship, can you use advance sensors affect before or after you declock? or because of nesting effects it becomes your choice?

Advanced Sensors
– Immediately before you reveal your maneuver, you may perform 1 free action. If you use this ability, skip your "perform Action" step during this round.

Both decloak and advanced sensor occur immediately before revealing your dial.

In that event, you decide which effect happens first.

Note that this means you can use advanced sensors to 'cloak', and then, immediately decloak before revealing your dial.

Also note that you can only cloak and decloak once per dial "revealing". You can't decloak - use advanced sensors to cloak - and then decloak again before revealing your dial.

The FAQ, on page 14, in the entry for Advanced Sensors, reads:

If a TIE Phantom uses Advanced Sensors to perform a cloak action, it cannot immediately decloak.

Whoops, true, that was a new one added in the last revision. So I stand corrected.

No more chances to shine for those low PS phantoms with Stygium Accelerators + Sensors,.... Only named ones with advanced cloaking allowed !! Don't dare defy the meta!!!

This has actually been the case since the August FAQ came out.

You can check this by seeing that it is written in black in the current FAQ (all changes and additions are in red)
