Initiative

Basic Rules

In scenarios with provided lists, the Imperial player has initiative.

With custom lists with different point totals, the player with the cheaper list has initiative.

With custom lists with equal point totals, the Imperial player has initiative.

(What to do when both players have equal-value lists of the same faction is not defined.)

If both players lose their last ship at the same time, the player with initiative wins the game.

Tournament Rules

With custom lists with different point totals, the player with the cheaper list chooses who has initiative.

With custom lists with equal point totals, pick one player by coinflip. That player chooses who has initiative.

If both players lose their last ship at the same time during a Swiss round, the game is a draw.

Asteroids

Each asteroid must be at least 2 Range units from all table edges.

Tournament Rules

Each asteroid must be at least 2 Range units from all table edges and at least 1 Range unit from all other asteroids.

Basic Rules

You may measure the distance to an enemy ship before deciding whether to Target Lock it.

FAQ - Tournament Rules

FAQ - Errata

Barrel Roll / Boost

Basic Rules

Large ships perform barrel rolls using the same procedure as small ships.

You may boost and barrel roll across obstacles.

You may check if there is room to barrel roll before deciding whether to perform that action.

FAQ - Errata

Large ships perform barrel rolls with the 1S piece parallel to the ship.

You may not boost or barrel roll across obstacles.

FAQ - Tournament Rules

The FAQ version is for Tournament rules. Basic is still you measure and then pick, in tournament you pick and then measure.
