Three ship Imperial tournament list

Been playing around with this list, just in friendly games against mates but was considering taking to a tournament.

Rexlar Brath

Predator

H laser cannon

Soontir Fel

Push the limit

Omicron group pilot

FCS

Comes to 100 points on the nose, I have been pretty successful with it, problem is I have not faced Tie Swarm, Fat Han or Phantoms. Undoubtedly there will be these lists at the comp, I was wondering if anyone out there had experience facing them with this kind of list, or possible tweaks.

Am I just a crazy dreamer to try something different? Or should I just crack out Whisper and a shed load of Tie Fighters?

If you think about you will find very powerful ways of beating both falcon and phantom. Depends which way you want to take it.

Yes I feel I have a chance against all three, just did not want to delude myself. In practice games Soontir Fel has been unstoppable, the Shuttle and Rexlar get all the attention and he runs havoc. I have tried switching Heavy laser cannon to shuttle but as I expect that ship to die every game, I think it's wasted.

Against the Falcon try and stay at range and keep Fel stressed so he has lots of focus, I feel I can pick off at least two ties a turn against a swarm and hopefully Fels movement should keep me in the game against a Phantom.

Slight adjustment for more damage output and more reliable damage:

Vessery with HLC and VI

Shuttle with Vader

Soontir with ptl and TC

You up the reliability of damage from all three without losing any defense. A friend of mine flies this at tournaments and it is insanely good. That HLC Vessery is completely, completely terrifying. The damage output is so solid that it will spoil you and you'll have trouble playing other lists.

The only tweak we've considered is dropping VI for adrenaline rush on Vessery.

On Phantom match-ups: You can give them initiative. Fel can solo any phantom with initiative. Not to mention you have Vader for guaranteed damage.

On Falcon match-ups: I flew Han/Corran against this list at tourney and he took Han to 4 hull in the first exchange. It also beat dual Falcons pretty easily.

I like this list a lot. The only thing I would consider as an option is changing Brath to Vessery and adding Targeting Computer to Soontir Fel. Again, it's just an alternative.

I have tried dropping FCS on shuttle and using targeting computer on Fel, It was good but he is still very effective without it, I thought I would give the shuttle a small boost.

I have tried Vessery once but not with heavy laser cannon, something to consider.

VI works really well with vessery he benefits from shooting sooner rather than later, I haven't tried fel with TC but I can see it working well.

Looks solid. I'd personally prefer outmaneuver on the Defender.

Depending on your luck with dice, Outmaneuver might be an option. It certainly helps vs. 1 agility ships and 3p0

Pretty close to the list I've been running:

Col Vessery w/ VI

Buzzsaw Shuttle (Gunner, Fire Control System, and Engine Upgrade)

Turr Phenir w/ PTL and Shield Upgrade

I've never lost and the Shuttle has never died. Turr is the one who usually bites it, but I'm actually OK with that. He's my least favorite. I put him as a flanker and whomever my opponent goes after, I slow them down and let the other flank rush in.

I've played against a Falcon a couple of times, but can't recall if it was a fully Fat Han. It dies in under 5 turns with concentrated fire. Well, at least against who I played against!

Played my first Imp on Imp game with it last night against 2 named Phantoms and Carnor Jax (I hate him). I lost the Defender for the first time, but won the game without losing the others. It's true that his green dice were poor.

I have not played a Tie Swarm.

Upon thinking about it, I think I might change things up a bit. I've not played Col Vessery with a HLC, but I'm might try it. I might drop Gunner for it. I don't use it that often. Also, drop FCS for Weapons Engineer. There have been a few times I've put the Target Lock on the wrong guy. This way I can put it on two targets and ensure that the Col. has a shot.

Oh, and I've been calling the list IMPERIAL FISTS since it's got some nice, heavy hammers....

Oh, I have found I like Turr Phenir because I get to shoot first, and then take 2 actions to get out of the way. It can be rough with the lower PS, though.

If you take Vessery and Fel with a TC, you can just throw the TL from Fel on the target you want Vessery to shoot at and just leave it there to trigger Vessery's ability. Soontir Fel is also mobile enough to get to where he needs to be.

The problem I have with Fel is I cant see him surviving a long time with dual falcons, one bad defence rolls and he is dead. I have had this happen too many times. At least with the Defenders, you can survive one or two bad rolls.

I agree that the Interceptor is hard to keep alive. There is always the first pass by, ships with turrets, and Phantoms that just make life dangerous. Being able to boost and barrel roll just isn't enough to keep you alive these days.

Yeah I have tried the two defenders and Shuttle, it's good but I feel Fels extra speed and high PS can be more useful
