Could use some help with Squad Building

By Dragontalon486, in X-Wing

Hello, I'm only a few months into the game and am on a tight budget at the moment (tight as in $60 a month). Here is the inventory of my ships.

Imperial:

1 Firespray 31

1 TIE Advanced

1 TIE Bomber

1 TIE Defender

3 TIE Fighters

1 Imperial Aces

2 TIE Phantoms

Rebel:

1 Rebel Aces

1 A-Wing

1 B-Wing

1 CR90 (surprisingly enough)

1 E-Wing

1 HWK-290

2 X-Wings

1 YT-1300

1 Z-95 Headhunter

Not the best list, I know but I didn't think I would be in this deep. A couple of the people I play the game with say that I'm good with maneuvering the ships (before I got the Phantoms) but my squad building ways leave a little to be desired. Any tips or sample builds would be appreciated.

Huh, you actually don't have Imp Aces for Soontir Fel.

Anyway:

Whisper VI ACD Rebel Captive

3 AP

Darth Vader shuttle (FCS and leaving 1 point for initiative is a great choice too. good against falcons)

Any of the stress ships or a ship with TL and F can put some hurt on a Phantom if you get it in arc. You should also have enough firepower to rapid chew through Fat Han.

You could try the phantom with two Tie Interceptors.

Edit: I'm gunna call it the glass cannon.

Can't promise it will be good, it relies on green dice :/, but it will hit hard.

Wow, that was quick. Yes I've been told that I was foolish not to pick up the TIE Intercepter when I had the chance but that will be soon rectified, along with a Y-Wing, Shuttle, and the GR-75. Your sample squads are good (at least compared to my most recent build)

Darth Vader (29)

That match wasn't pretty because Vessery was hit with five shots by a single B-Wing Heavy Laser Cannon with Jan Ors' ability in the HWK without a single evade, and Darth Vader lost his ability through one of two Crits. also for the first part of my collecting method is to get one of every ship then start getting extras of what ships work best with me.

as was said you need a standard interceptor box. Apart from that you're going well.

You could try the phantom with two Tie Interceptors.

Looks like it might be fun, I'll try it.
