Going to my first tournament at the weekend. Its a Wave 5 pre-release with a chance to win one of the new ships and although i doubt ill win i want to make a good showing and not just make up the numbers.

I wanted to try something with Biggs and ended up overloading an entire squad based around keeping Biggs alive, then realising that the only things he was protecting... were the units designed to help him survive etc.

Instead ive gone a little more simple and while Biggs is still included, hes simply a meatshield now to protect some actual threat.

Obviously that choice on Wedge is one i still need to make and there is a point left over for maybe an Astromech but which on who doesnt seem to really 'stand out' to me.

Any thoughts?

I built up this list a few weeks ago but haven't had a chance to run it, lots of synergy in theory but yet to be tested:

Biggs 25

Wedge + DTF 30

Keyan Farlander + HLC + PTL + AdvSen + B-Wing/E2 + Jan Ors 45

idea isthat with Jan ors crew Biggs can take a focus as a n evade instead and wedge covers biggs with DTF keeping them all alive that extra turn or 2

then when biggs dies Keyan can TL, push to focus which get him an evade instead, and have a stress (attacking focus as well)

Keyan with HLC plus focus, TL & evade every turn!

of course yet to be tested but looks crazy fun.

if you have phantom issues in your area sub out the DTF for VI on Wedge.

Predator is best on wedge, I wouldn't worry about an astromech since you will have a decent enough shot at 99 to make Whisper cry

It's pretty viable. Just make sure you understand how stress works really well. If you do advanced sensors and ptl, but then pull a green move then Keyan won't get to keep the stress. Even worse, if you pick a red move and then ptl your opponent will get to choose your dial.

Im actually liking the Jan Ors tactic but i think id probably drop Advanced Sensors first so i can still do the combo, but keep Wedges attacking ability.

Ill admit, my feelings are leaning more towards Outmaneuver for him but i understand it isnt always viable where Predator will work each turn so its probably the choice ill eventually make. *Goes to edit above*

TBH Keyan only has PTL to reliably give him stress. Once the Outrider is released i actually plan on running 'Stay on Target' on him as standard with Advanced Sensors.

On Outmaneuver here are the draw backs:

1. Wedge has to be in a flanking position, but you have Biggs so you want to fly in a block. You won't get into position enough for it to be useful.

2. Wedge already removes one Agility so if you can Outmaneuver a 2 or 3 agility ship its pretty impressive (though unlikely an opponent will let you do that). If its a one agility ship, not so much.
