force sensitive training n knowledge

By slaamgebel, in Star Wars: Edge of the Empire RPG

Hi i need help for one of my player. She is a force sentive chiss in my game and have uncover a jedi holocron. She plan in the long term to go light side. What are your take on lightsider quest to the force. I have an other player he have a holocron of tulak hord and aim dark side but i dont have problem with dark side quest to knowledge n power.

Like for the light sider who or what shoukd i put in the holocron?

I know i kinda of shoukd wait for the jedi book n all. But it kinda too late for those two players

I'd get hold of the beta if I were you. The force rules are far better in there than the other 2 books.

Where can i get it? Or is it easy as google it as pdf. Currently at work so can really try it (the google part)

If anyone have a copy of the beta in pdf could i have a link?

Arrr Ye Matey! Make 'em walk the plank! (Well, I guess in SW it would be the Airlock...)

Go to the Force and destiny beta page on here and order it. It is a softcover book. FFG cannot sell PDFs of Star wars game material.

It's a licensing issue.

Ok i see well i dont have the money atm to buy it with the force and destiny book and rules what suggestion for my lightsider quest/trial etc. (with just edge and age books)

You don't really need the F&D beta to run this, there's nothing specific to lightsiders in there. If they are just starting out, it will take some time before they'll be reasonably competent even in one power, and there are five total powers between the EotE and AoR books. Plus, the two FS specializations are very useful, they could get to FR3 by the end of them. Then when the full book comes out in they can really go to town with Heal/Harm and Protect/Unleash. In the meantime, Light and Dark are more a matter of behaviour than specific force powers. Both Yoda and Dooku were masters of Sense and Move, for example.

There really isn't anything by way of that type of information, at least not in the beta - that's more of fluff material that'll be out in the core's release.

The more pertinent information for somebody in your player's situation is harder rules for what holocrons can do and rules to build a slightly less powerful lightsaber than what's in the AoR and EotE cores, and how to go through the process of customizing/modding it.

Like whafrog said, it's helpful, but not entirely necessary. More of just depends on how far into jedi/the force you want your game to get into.

The beta is only 30 bucks so it is less expensive than the full core will be in in 7 months or so.
