Does munitions fail safe work with proton bombs?

Tricky one. You discard the proton bomb card to use it, but you're not technically making an "attack". You've dropped the bomb, so it's been used. Whether someone is close enough to wear the damage is sometimes down to luck.

My opinion would be no, due to there being no "attack".

Nope. According to page 2 of the FAQ: "Bomb Upgrade cards are not secondary weapons". Munitions Failsafe only applies to secondary weapons.

Thanks for the clarification guys! We were in the middle of a game when I asked and played it correctly it appears! I was in a rush trying to find it in the FAQ.

Even without hitting, it made him disperse his ships and was no longer able to concentrate firepower so it helped in the long run!

I am starting to like bombers! Last night was the first time I ever used two! We are playing 150 point games now and the extra 50 pts really helps us make interesting builds!

I love bombers, though their general low PS makes me like the proximity mines more, now with the latest understanding from the newest FAQ.
