I have seen some of them on League. After all if you got them during GenCon or another event where they were available for pre-release then why not play them?
Besides pre-release is like the equivalent of an open beta-test, with pre-releases players are able to develop strategies and figure out how to incorporate the new additions (or how to counter them) but most important they highlight items that need clarification and bring up F.A.Q.s
