Scorched battle map. Obliterated ships on all sides. Down to one battered and smoking ship vs another battered and smoking ship.
She had Chewie in the falcon with a target lock I convinced her not to use the previous turn and 3 hull points left. I had an interceptor with with 1 hull point left.
Back story - she is like playing with a kid and needs constant success to stay interested. I don't string too many successful rounds together. 2 set backs in a row might, cause her to quit. So I flub rounds after getting a good one in. And I never win. Losing would cause her to never play again and me to play a lot less.
What happens next is one of the most cinematic moments I have had in any game. I turn my interceptor into the falcon and boost into range 1 setting up her win for her. I shoot first with a higher ps, but figure she has enough hull points to survive it. I roll 3 blasts vs her 1 green die, and she has just 3 hull points. She makes it and in grand fashion, cancels one hit taking a damage card, and one critical dealt face up, which was the hull hit that counts as 2 damage to blow her up, but wait she's Chewie so that gets flipped face down and she hangs in there with 1 hull point.
Her turn to shoot. 4 red vs 3 green. 1 blast, use target lock that I had her save bc, she rerolls and gets 1 more blast, plus 2 focus eyes that she now uses her focus to have 4 blasts. I can only roll 3 green and only have 1 hull left. Game!
She was so excited and pleased with her flying I might risk winning tonight!
