Critique this rebel list

By Duck of Doom, in X-Wing

I'm still new to the game with less than 10 casual matches under my belt and would appreciate some feedback on this list.

Dutch Vander - R7T1/Ion Cannon Turret

Nera Dantels - Predator/2x Flechette torps/Ion cannon/Fire control system/Munitions failsafe

Biggs Darklighter - R2D2

99pts

I haven't had the opportunity to test it out yet but my thoughts are to fly as a squad with Biggs trailing the others. I know Nera is a bit heavy but using Dutch to pass a target lock will lighten her up a bit. R7 will also give Dutch a small chance at arc dodging plus target lock for ion turret if/when I lose Biggs.

Any thoughts/comments/suggestions welcome.

With predator, the munitions failsafe is less than necessary, as it's highly unlikely that you're going to miss two torpedo shots. Biggs is always solid, as is Dutch to pass Nera her target locks. I like the list other than the failsafe.

Lots of potential improvements/short comings

1) Dutch shoots his Ion first. I hate shooting ions first as it either doesn't go through because they have tokens, or it doesn't strip any tokens because why bother spending them

2) Biggs is going to die first, and potentially in the first round. It seems like R2D2 is kinda a waste imo. I'd rather have a SU tbh.

3) Biggs is going to die first, which means once he's down for the count, Dutch can only pass TL off to Nera, who has a FCS to get her own TL

4) Predator seems a bit redundant on all non-Flechette shots since you should have a TL anyways. And the Flechette shots have MF in case you miss anyways

5) It's a 3 ship list, that is the fire power of a two ship list + 1 damage, and doesn't have much in terms of health or agility (21 total, most at 1 agi)

A classic question is always "will R2-D2 really be worth his points on Biggs?" It sounds like you're going to make him get shot at by everyone but R2-D2 is no help until after you've been hit and also performed a relatively predictable movement.

Predator makes you more likely to hit and with two missiles I'm not sure Munitions Failsafe will pay either. Throwing on another secondary weapon means other things to do as well. Remember the interaction between Predator and Target Locks; you can not re-roll the same die twice.

I'm also not so impressed with the firepower. Ions may be nice for control but can only deal one damage.
