Talisman the Reaper question

By aldaco12, in Talisman

I used to play Talisman many years ago, and I re-stared to play it when Talisman - Digital Edition came out.

Now I am playing the Reaper expansion, but I haven't understood something.

When you meet the Reaper you roll a die, and if you roll a 1 you're dead.

But I haven't understood what happens if you're forced to fight against the reaper (I don't remember the die roll which makes this to happen, but maybe it's a 4 roll).

If you have to fight the Reaper, against which enemy do you fight? What are its strength/craft values? You are attacked by him with strength of with craft?

And, last question, if you lose you just lose one vitality point or do you lose more?

Thanks for your help.

You never fight the Reaper. You can "dice with Death" which is both roll 2 dice, highest roll wins.

If you lose you lose a life. It's all on the card for the Reaper.

Otherwise things just happen for the most part in an encounter (he gives you X, he goes to someone else, you lose a life/follower, you die, etc).

Yeah, one can never fight the Grim Reaper, because, well, he's death itself! Even if one did try to fight him, he could just snap his skeletal fingers and *poof!* you're dead! The "dice with death" and chess thing just represent him engaging you in a game for his own amusement.

Here's the Reaper card. I just Googled it and this is the first picture came up.
