Does Roland Banks ability work in the Final Battle Upkeep phase? It doesn't say it doesn't, and against most Ancient Ones it's not a major thing but does give a little bit of extra power. Nyarlathotep, on the other hand, is completely unable to kill Roland provided that Roland starts the battle with at least one clue. (I know, Epic Battle, but I don't have Kingsport yet)
It should also be mentioned that this makes him a valuable asset against the older GOOs that require a skill check or be attacked. When the modifiers get to a point where you are guaranteed to fail, Roland will always have 1 die to throw.

Hmm. I never thought about that. But also, the check to protect against Yibb-Tstll never gets more difficult. I guess Epic Battle is the final decider of an indefinite battle, eh?
What about his Expense Account? I just lost a Final Battle unsure of whether or not Roland could reload his .357.

Well, I was gonna lose anyway. Zhar may be pretty quiet during the game, but if he wakes up, it's like fighting a mini-Shub and a mini-Yog in succession with only 8 rounds in which to do it. I was so not ready for that, one stupid gun wasn't gonna make much difference (apologies to Inspector Callahan).
Well, nobody can receive money during final combat, officially. But a good point was brought up about final battle against Nyarlathotep if you can just continue to receive a clue. It would only end at End of Everything .

Not true. Bank loans and retainers are discarded. I don't think there's anywhere in the rules that says anything about not being able to receive money?

Yeah, it's a real rule. Investigators no longer receive money during Final Combat. I don't remember if it's in the booklet, or if it's on the FAQ. But that rule always stood out to me, because originally it didn't matter at all; then "reloadable" weapons came along.
I agree with Tibs. At work and don't want to download the rulebook(s) to work comps, so can't verify, but I recall that rule myself. Realistically, Jenny Barnes or whoever should have enough money to reload the weapons, especially since you can trade stuff.

But there's nothing that says you can't trade money, so at the very least you could just mass up the remaining money on the investigators that need it for reloading.

Heh anyways I say no for reload weapons. It make no sense to allow reloading of flamethrower or elephant gun in the middle of a fight with a monster the size of a mountain (in cthulhu's case). As Deadpool would tell you "should have brought more pouches".
But as stated, if another person wants to lend you money to turn into ammo then they can (makes sense right?...of course...everything makes sense in Arkham) Other than that you can't get anymore money for ammo.

Basically, I want a recount. This rule was printed in an unalterable manual at least 18 months before any weapon required money as a resource. And unfortunately, any manual printed AFTER those cards were available contains a FAQ that was printed at least a year before any weapon required money as a resource. I'm not saying Al Gore won't still lose, but I want to SEE IT in a FAQ.
