Help me build a frustrating squad.

By JimmyKamikaze, in X-Wing

So I have been playing around with some squads to mess with my friends with lately and it hit me. This is my version of a Fettigator squad. On paper it seems to frustrate, in reality... Well we'll see tonight.

Boba Fett

Navigator

Heavy Laser Cannon

Predator

Echo

Veteran Instincts

Advanced Cloaking Device

Obsidian Squadron Pilot

Youre thoughts/critiques/assistance/space bucks are welcome and encouraged!!!

Maybe upgrade the obsidian to Backstabber instead of having Predator on Boba?

I don't think fett really needs the HLC or navigator, though the HLC can be good. Rebel captive on the phantom and recon spec on the firespray or vice versa can be awesome. Dropping HLC and possibly vi lets you up to stabber or take predator on echo

Not sure frustration is the right reaction to be seeking in your opponents...

Whisper-recon specialist, sensor jammer, advanced cloaking device, vet instincts
Carnor Jax-push the limit, royal guard title, stealth device, shield upgrade
Dark Curse-Stealth device

Given by the number of threads complaining about it, use anything involving Han / MF / C-3P0.

Frustrating? Decimator with 3 tacticians...

Lists to troll your friends?

Three shuttles, all with HLCs and random crew (let's say Vader and Rebel Captive).

Deploy in the corner of the map, and make sure you put as many asteroids to make getting to your ships slightly annoying.

Crash into each other with 1banks all game so you don't move and cover all the arcs.

"come at me. I'm not moving until you kill me."

Play for a few hours until either you eventually lose, or you win due to great position and 4 dice per ship. :)

I have never played against this strategy .. But if I did, I would simply concede and walk away at turn 2. It's the same as playing with a group of camping sniper weilding chuckleheads on the nuketown map on call of duty. Maintaining sanity is far more preferable to gaining a win.

Frustrating? Decimator with 3 tacticians...

2 Tacticians, 1 Gunner.

Ion Cannons and Flechete torpedoes. Basically stress ion builds can frustrate your opponent.

two tacticians, one gunner, and a flechette torpedo.

My thoughts wwre to frustrate my opponent by him not knowing where i would be when i moved because of Navigator and the phantom.

Needs more consistent nuisance. Tactician + Mara Jade + Rebel Captive (throw in an arc dodger, to make sure they're forced to shoot at the captive).

I've made a similar list. If it works, I might simply call it 'I Hate You'. :)

Frustrating?

Just take interceptors or a wings and just race around the edge of the table out of range.

That would be frustrating, it will be super boring too but i'd be frustrated at someone who refused to engage :)

Or, if You are still waiting for Your Mara to come, Kath Scarlet + Ion cannon + Rebel Captive.

No way man, EZ win. I have played against it, the shuttles find it nearly impossible to reposition, so you just approach in a way where your whole squad can only shoot/be shot at by 1 shuttle and repeat. Sniper campers on nuketown is also ezpz

I would walk away after two turns. That's like playing the Geonosis map on battlefront 1 against someone who uses the gunships.

I ran a 4 shuttle list once, all with ion cannons and two of them with anti-pursuit lasers. I told my opponent I was doing something silly and he said it was cool. I set them up behind a wall of asteroids and flew them into each other so they formed a square. Then I just sat there 1 forwarding into myself. I had every arc covered, but not strongly. I did manage to ion his shuttle off the board and had Howlrunner explode from APL collisions. In the end, though, I lost two shuttles and had Vader chasing my other two around the board until they died.

I might do it again some day for fun, but never in anything serious. If I did, I'd probably go with 3 shuttles instead so I could fit Advanced Sensors and maybe some other stuff. The constant collisions mean you have no actions, so your shots don't have much impact. AS would help that.

3x Outer Rim Smugglers each with Anti Pursuit Lasers, Navigator and Intelligence Agent.

Let the bumping shenanigans and action denial begin!

The most frustrating list that I could think of would include insane maneuverability, ionization, stressing, and really good piloting and dice rolls. Is it even possible to fit all of those into a functioning list? Hold on...

Edit:

So far the best I can come up with is Hobbie with R3-A2, either a Rebel Operative or a Gold Sq. Pilot with an ICT, Jake Farrel with PTL, and maybe an ORS with APL. But I can't think of a way to pack all of them into a list. Maybe it's time to take it to a slightly more EPIC scale?

I've really frustrated people by flying 4 Y-wings with ion canons.

I flew this control list in a local comp on the weekend and it worked a treat. Frustrating for my opponents but not in a way that detracted from the X Wing experience.

2x Blue squad, Ion cannon, B-Wing/E2, Tactician, and Fire Control System.

Keyan Farlander, Push the Limit, Ion cannon, B-Wing/E2, Tactician, and Fire Control System.

There were a lot of ships with lots of red tokens all over them.
