Set up
Left flank: Tie interceptors,
Facing: nothing
Center: Dark Curse, Mauler Mithel, Defender, Scimitar
Facing: Blue, Farlander, Wes, Airen, Roark, Bandit
Right Flank: Shuttle, Night beast, Backstabber
Facing: G75(angled towards the center)
1st Round: Everyone moves up, no one gets a shot.
2nd Round: Everyone continues to move forward, with Mauler managing to bump into the delta as it maneuvered to avoid an asteroid. The imperial flankers on each side have moved deep into my side of the board, although carnor jax is not yet coming about to line up a shot. The scimitar has banked to the right The G75 piles stress onto the Shuttle with a Jam action.
PS12 Bandit and Airen open up with assault missiles, neither of which connect. Failsafe looks clever until the bandit dies at the end of the round to shots from the shuttle and Scimitar. Keyan exposed the bumped Mauler and tore him appart in a single salvo, which promptly caused my opponent to pick up his own expose and re-examine it. The Defender fires off it's proton rockets into Roark, and even through an asteroid deals 2 more damage. Rebel shooting is other wise ineffective except for Roark zapping the Scimitar. A couple of shields get stripped off each of the Bs, and the G75's shields have already gone down to the pair of named ties, but it's fat with energy.
Round 3: Delta heads forward on it's K-turn, only to find itself on an asteroid. The scimitar moves forward Ion'd and can't quite make it past an asteroid. Denied it's barrel roll, the de-stressing shuttle which was banking towards the center in turn collides into it...enabling the G75 to ram it from behind and smash the intact shuttle to bits - I hope no one important was onboard! The Rebel fighters creep forwards and the entire front explodes into a flurry of pointblank fire exchanges. Slightly higher PS and a pair of Direct Hit crits will result in the rebels coming out ahead as Dark Curse goes down and damage is landed on the Delta and Royal guard. Various rebel ships take a hammering, with Keyan reduced to 2 hull and the definite focus of their attention. G75, having briefly restored it's shield, finds them shredded again and further hull damage landed.
Round 4: Delta shifts forward under ion. Blue K-turns to face the imperial interceptor's expected positions whilst the Scimitar flips around and starts strafing the Transport. The named ties on the right continue to pursue G75 and all the rest of the rebel fighters are K turning around to bring their guns to bear on the interceptors that are diving right into the heart of the furball. Roark slips past the defender and smugly assumes a position that will turn out to be completely safe as the enemy interceptors rush after the wounded Farlander. G75 trundles forward reinforcing it's aft against the incoming enemy attacks.
Farlander gets off what's expected to be a desperate last shot at PS12, pulling tokens off the Royal guard. Carnor returns fire but mostly whiffs, landing a single point on Farlander. Then Wes smashes Carnor Jax in a single shot, aided by another lucky crit (minor explosion this time) and Roark eliminates the damaged Royal guard as it engages Blue who is in turn swapping shots with the damaged defender. Night Beast, Backstabber and the scimitar pour fire on the the G75, leaving it on the brink, but not quite dead yet.
With just 4 ships remaining, the imperials decide on the better part of valour, and slip away into the night.
End scores:
Imperials 18
Rebels 134
