New to the game wanting thoughts on a Jedi deck

By Azarith_Stryffe, in Star Wars: The Card Game - Strategy

Hello everyone,

I'm very new to the game, haven't bought any cards yet, and haven't played since it was Tested at Gencon 3 years ago. But I wanted to know, is building a deck based around Jedi characters any good, if even possible at all. If it can be decent and possible, what sets do you recommend? I'm obviously going to get the Core set, but should I get more then 1? And which set packs would you recommend for this? I know I'm being very generic, but I'm also not entirely sure how the game works anymore also. I feel bad for coming on here asking for advice when I don't know what I want the deck to do necessarily, I just love Jedi characters, and if I can find out what to buy before I just go spend my money on random things, it would help me centralize my funds.

Thank you,

~Azarith

Jedi are considered by many to be the most powerful LS deck right now and have a major expansion on the way too.

You want two core sets, and Force Pack Knowledge and Defense at minimum.

Okay, thank you very much, any others you can recommend that would be good to pick up?

You will want Between the Shadows deluxe when it comes out In the next month or so.

Heroes and legends is also very good pack.

Thank you so much :)

Yeah, you definitely want these two. Together they make a jedi deck this is too powerful atm imo, and not fun to play against.

Jedi is far from unbeatable. Sith control can own them plenty of times. Cards like Agression and Hate work particularly well against them.

And I find that Scum & Villainy can handily put a damper on Jedi by capturing their mains, thus denying most of their blast damage. The capture mechanic has blossomed quite nicely.

Aggression normally doesn't do much. They'll just throw away one of their 0-drops. But if they lack one (because they threw the nudge in the edge) it could prove to be devastating indeed. Both decks (sith control & mono-scum) do have a chance though, especially the latter as the objective damage capacity booster really slows the deck down, and due to their edge trix they might actually win the edge battle. It's just that - in the lowlands meta - the deck never lost afaik (but that's not saying much :P ).
