Not sure if anyone has pointed this out, but lightsaber pikes are double bladed light sabers with shoto length blades. Going from official canon, the jedi temple guard had lightsaber pikes. Link here. http://www.starwars.com/databank/lightsaber-pike Just passing it along, the book does not reflect the double sabered-ness of it.
Lightsaber Pike are incorrect in the book...
Their lightsaber pikes are THESE lightsaber pikes...
Honestly, the Sabers the Jedi Temple Guards used in TCW are just double-bladed lightsabers with short blades.
Edited by DarthGMAs DarthGM said, they aren't wrong. And if you have a problem with it, I'd just recommend you re-flavor the double bladed saber to suit your needs.
Just showing what canon says. Seems like you guys are the ones with a problem. Clearly my link is defacto new canon. If the book doesn't want to support that it's cool. Just pointing it out! Anyway, thanks for commenting!
No problems, chief. Just showing you where FFG got their inspiration for the pike.
Every FFG Star Wars book draws from Legends. This is no different.
For me the Darth GM link is the lightsaber pike. Being a medieval martial artist tells me pikes have blades on 1 end. and give you range.
Is it bad that i want to do this
The Star Wars pike looks like a DIY amputation device for players that want to save some credits on their cyber enhancements and remove the unwanted limb themselves.
Not sure what LFL was thinking calling those shortened saberstaffs a "Lightsaber Pike" when the rest of the fandom associates the lightsaber pike as the item linked by DarthGM. Ah well. not important enough to get upset (at anyone) about.

As someone who does sword fighting and spear fighting. cutting your own arm off is not a problem you run into.

You mean ... "disarming" doesn't come from that?!
