Proton Torpedo

By auggiedog, in X-Wing Rules Questions

In order to use a proton torpedo, you usually have to spend a Target Lock. Does the target of my torpedo attack have to be the one I originally put a Target Lock on in the first place, thus removing his Lock token from the gaming areas? Or, can I attack a target that doesn't have a Target Lock on it?

You are attacking the ship you have the Target Lock on and you remove the lock to make the attack, meaning the lock is not available to modify the dice during the attack.

There is an exception here. If your pilot has Deadeye he can spend a focus token instead to fire the proton torpedo, and he's not restricted on who he has to target.

Thanks much!
