[Scratchbuild] Hutt Asteroid Base

By MacrossVF1, in X-Wing

So I've gotten a commission to build and paint an asteroid base for use with X-wing. The inspiration comes from the following model:

And here is what I've gotten done so far. I started by cutting down two blocks of purple/pink styrofoam to form the base of the asteroid. After that I started on the landing pad, which is designed to look a bit like the landing pads found on space stations in the Tie Fighter game. Do note that I will try to update this thread daily.

Wow! I bet it will look great!

There you go!

:)

This is going to double up great as a hideout for the Kryat Fang and PC's in Edge of the empire, and as a prop for x-wing :D

Can't wait to design a floor plan and create rules for it.

Omg awesome. So going to follow this.

Thats one big pirce of terrain it'll look good when finished i'm sure.

Nice!

It's footprint is about the size of an Ipad. Big enough to look impressive, small enough to not crowd a 3x3 play area.

Today's update. I've started on the hangar and fitted it to the landing pad. I've also begun carving out space for the landing pad assembly on the actual asteroid and the started building the 'Cantina' as well.

Ang'ash! Atchu wa trinkii.

You know what, I can't understand a word of that, no matter what I do with the all mighty knowledge-giver Google.

Kandosii, ner vod!

Now this I can understand. Just you wait until it's finished. :)

It was my best shot at typing out (part of) what Jabba's eye-in-door droid says. I guess I could have added "wha-ha-ha-ha-ha". That thing has always been one of my favourite moments in RotJ.

Didn't Jabba say that, not his eye thing?

Well, now I've found two other written versions of the same utterance. The one that comes closest to mine is:

H'chu apenkee (hah choo ah pen kee) ?. 1. Greetings.

I was referencing your use of Mando'a.

I've always liked "Ke chu ke kukuta?" Whenever i was sorting cards and came across this one, I had to say it aloud.

I swear if you start speaking elvish i'm getting my axe!

Okay, that's what i thought, just wanted to make sure you weren't talking to Macross abut his model and me completely misunderstanding you. That would've been awkward. :P

But anyway, yeah, Mando'a is awesome.
