Acrylic Hotness

Decided to update this first page, as most visitors will land here first without going through all pages to see what happened and what's current. Too bad there's such a tight limitation on number of images per post :-)

I like the purty one's.

Those look pretty awesome! Only thing I would say is to use the same basic image/color scheme for each movement length... So all the 1s have a similar picture, the 2s, and so on... Would make them a little easier to pick out when you need them. Great job though, they look SWEET.

I think any colour works, you have no idea how often I lose templates on the gaming mats and have to force myself to see the woods past the trees, who thought vision based on pattern recognition was a good idea? Intelligent design my white fury butt.

Ohhh shiny!

You make these yourself? How?

...where did these come from and how much money can I throw at them to make them come to me

I like The white ones! Tthe contrast would be best on the play mat!

But the colour ones are shiny.

I agree! Where can i get a set of these. I need!

Everybody interested PM me (Forum rules and such, I don't want to get trouble here ;-) )

I like the white too...has that sweet imperial feel!

Well, I have access to 3 laser cutting/engraving machines, and a UV printer. The "shiny" ones are transparent acryl, cut and then printed on one side to get an incredible shiny color (the backside is then also printed, for gaming comfort).

The black ones are "glossy" black acryl, cut to shape and then engraved using a special laser (not the usual CO2) and a certain frequency to alter the acryl in a way that the engraving is actually not cut into the material but kinda raises from the surface, altering its color during the process.

The white ones are white acryl, cut and then printed. Could be any color, I did red and black so far.

The Black and the White sets could easily be modified/individualized (names, symbols, silhouettes, ... whatever); I kept them simple for personal use as I like that best (don't get distracted when dogfighting :-) ).

Range rulers and tokens (focus etc) will follow soon.

if you can add tis to your specs, i think it would be very useful:

(When/if you start making the Range rulers too)

on Range Rulers, put a little +1 red and +1 green reminder (or have it as an option).

This feature is extremely extremely extremely useful when teaching new players the rules. It reduces the number of rules they have to remember.

Very very nice :-)

One thing, not sure if you have done it but hey

A range one and range two firing ruler helps with measuring

I would love a full set done like the 2 hard in the pictures above.

That's already requested by a player here, and already planned for the range rulers :-)

The one will come for sure, not so sure about the 2 as it is the same distance as 5 straight move. Will probably plan it and offer it as "on demand" (takes 2 extra days then to deliver the order containing it)

There will be a set for each theme on the rulers above. The first two will be the one from the 5 straight (theme named "Aftermath") and the one from the 2 hard (theme "Odera Expanse"), as the themes on the set correspond to the ones on mats I sell and those two sold best so far and are requested as sets from my customers (lucky you :-) ). The others will follow, 2 sets each week.

Looks like I will have to get the website up in english fast (its in german so far) :-)

Man, those Transparent ones are awesome!
Got me out of lurking just ot see how to get a set!

Ok folks, here we go. The next set is done, production will start monday (ready to ship wednesday, 29th Oct), pictures of actual products will follow then.

The set is based on the theme "Odera Expanse" (artist: JKelly) that I use for my mats. There are 2 versions:

1) The Puzzle Set: each template/ruler shows a different area of the grand picture.

2) Single set: The same area (more or less, around the planet) of the grand picture is used on all the pieces. There will be slight variations, due to different shape of the single templates (and designers taste of how to place the shape on the picture).

Also, our first token sets will be produced next week. Here's the print preview (test on white acryl to see the color):

test-tokenset-classic.jpg

we decided to stick to the classic design for the first one (except for ionized, we don't like the original ionized token...). A more "abstract" set might follow later :-)

(the light was bad when taking the pic, another one will follow later, during daylight)

The tokens are a bit smaller then the original, but not much.

Those look awesome. How do we get some?!

Thanks. Unless you are good at reading german (there's a webshop, but only in german; I work on the english version already) it goes through pm here.

Interesting... Could this technique be applied to create acrylic movement dials held by neodymium magnets?

So looking forward to you getting the Rang Rules done and putting an order in.

Why... why couldn't you be in the US? I would love a set, but the cost of shipping overseas would make it more than I can afford.

Yes sir, and I have that on my planning board already, as I have 2 dials that doesn't look very good anymore :-)

Seems like a common problem...

well, I will drop you a note as soon as they are done.

Shipping to overseas address is 6 Euro for up to 3 sets (the costs go up a bit when more sets have to be sent, but not much). While it is quite something for 1 set, when you take 3 it comes down to 2 euro shipping cost per set - not too bad in my eyes :-)

These look great! I really like the look of the classic black with white lettering.
