Video Demonstrating Armored Combat

By Nimsim, in Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay

I think this a really cool demonstration of how mobile people wearing full plate armor were for combat, as well as showing a direct hit with a sword causing almost no reaction from the recipient. Hopefully this helps inspire some people when considering acrobatics while wearing armor.

Mobility wasn't the problem, the biggest problem was the weight of the armor eventualy tiering you out.

Swords don't fase anybody in armor, but a warhammer to he helmet will leave a big impression*.

If you want to take down someone in a full suit of plate mail: hit 'em in the happy sack! Most plate mail was made for knights on horseback, so they have only a bit of chainmail to protect their private bits. Now imagine getting hit there with a mace.

* Pun definatly intended.

Great Video !

Especially as they are using 15th Century armor. ANd not something fancier from later ages. And for exhaustion: put a guy in it who trains Every day a hour in it since his 8th birthday and he will hold out quite longer than a cosplayer in his stormtrooper armor. :)

Oh definitely. Fortunately, WFRP has an entire fatigue system set up for dealing non-wound damage to characters. There's no specific system for a bashing weapon like a hammer or mace being better against armor (which they are), but nothing stops you from giving a white die or two for having an appropriate weapon or a black die for a less effective one. Suddenly the choice of hand weapon matters mechanically!
