Poll - Rebel or Imperial?

By dungeonfish, in X-Wing

I'm just curious. What side do you generally play? Your "go-to" faction if you want to be most competitive?

(I didn't see an actuall poll option.)

I would say that if I had to pick a side it would be Rebels. I generally play both sides, but the X-Wing is my favorite ship.

I don't usually play to be competitive. But I lean toward the Empire when I play.

Empire, up until Rebel Aces. I am unsure right now. A-Wings are my fav ship, and they are really fun to fly now.

I always play rebels,it's fun playing as the underdog! :P

Nothing to do with being competitive, but Alliance, for sure.

Imperials competitively. The just match my play style much more then the Rebs do.

Imperial!

My play group and I tend to mix it up regularly so I would say I play both evenly, but if I was forced to pick as side to fight for during the Rebellion....

Alliance. Definitely Rebels for me.

Whichever side my opponent doesnt want to play. My only caveat is i've no interest in 'rebel vs rebel' or imp vs imp games as i cant engage into those.

I need to feel the game is a battle like those seen in the films.

Han solo and chewbacca in a falcon fighting lando and han solo in a falcon leaves me cold....

I fly almost only Imperials since I'm the only one in my playgroup willing be the bad guys.*

*Do what is necessary to preserve Galactic Peace.

Largely the opposite in my group. Most people fly imperial by preference.

I tend to do rebels by default.

I play rebels, like the look of the ships more, and they have that motley feel to them. Imperial stuff seems very standard issue.

Imperial!

They certainly do have a more unified 'style' with that 'heinkel 111' type window on most ships and the big solar wings.

Its' why i've always thought firesprays looked odd in imperial fleets and was so glad S&V was coming out.

Then again that 'style' is a bit of a hinderence at times as most of the 'new' designs for imperial ships are a bit lacklustre and 'how many wings can we fit on the eyeball'

Rebel... I flew imps for the first time at my second AIA event (after winnig the first one) and everyone was really confused... To confuse them even more, I ran three big based ships (shuttle x2 and BH)... When I pretty much refuse to run a large base normally... It was an interesting day, and got me rethi... nvm, no it didn't.

Imperials based on coolness of ships! :) I prefer the high attack, high agility!

In league, I had the most success with Rebels, but that was prior to Wave 4, as I was flying mostly Xwings!

I feel similarly, save for I don't mind imperial vs imperial. A lot of my favorite stories revolve around fights like that, so they make sense to me. Rebel vs Rebel is ickys tho.

Underdog? Sorry but until they give the Imperials some love (like an epic ship) the Rebels are anything but the underdog.

Go to is always Emp, and it has 1 if not 2 shuttles with ion.

I like to run as 'training exercises' as long as both sides don't run the same unique. It also, oddly, helps engender inventive flying in my group as the narrative stakes are lowered.

Where I live, rebels are the underdogs. I feel like Luke when he's about to destroy the death star and everyone around him is getting blown up.

Imperials... because I love the interceptor.

yeah i can totally see 'crimson empire' type imp vs imp fights but on the whole I prefer it to be 'galactic civil war'

Empire usually because I love defenders. But I don't have reliably performing list with Defenders...

If I feel not confident about my chances in a tournament I go rebels. Rebels are easier to play, even if they aren't as exciting as the Empire.
