Then of course the one someone mentioned before:
Carnor Jax + Expert Handling + EI
Can't use Focus, Evade and can't TL me (beat that Dark Curse!).

I am so excited to use Biggs/R2-F2/EI and Wedge/Marksmanship/EI. So very, very excited.

I do have a more general question for you all. Do you like the format here? Do you like me taking a single upgrade and exploring builds with a number of different combinations? This was all spawned when someone asked if there was a list of all the upgrades that EI would work on.

I like it

It encourages people to consider options that they hadn't considered before, which is always welcome.
I too enjoy it.

I really enjoy the format of "here's an upgrade, what cool/odd/crazy things can I do with it?"
I don't always comment, but I always read these kind of posts.
Fat Han with Experimental Interface and Marksmanship... Then you can evade (with MF title), Marksmanship and have the benefit of C3P0. Oh and throw gunner on there too just to make it ridiculous

I like your perspective. You have ideas that I haven't thought of and might have not considered. I think this is a good format and great idea.

Maybe not the best idea - but I think it could work well.
Leaving Fel an action for boost or BR - activate Expose, get a focus.
Not recommented versus turreted ships, though
Maybe Royal Guard title + Auto-thrusters? can remedy that.
Do we know that Auto-thrusters do yet?
With Royal Guard Title you could even add a TC. for 36 points.
TL + Focus + 4-5 dice in a round could be interesting. But sooo glassy as well.
I need to try this.
Forget 5 dice decimators!
The new meta defining power ship in the game will be a 5 dice throwing, exposing experimental interfacing Mauler Mithel.
It might be the most stupid expensive Tie, it might be essentially a death sentence to sit at range one with only two defence dice, but the glory of 5 dicing someone of the board one game in 5 would be so worth it!
Madness! ![]()
You can get that for cheaper with opportunist on mithel if constructed correctly without the agility loss.

I'm looking forward to tycho + ei + daredevil + expert handling.

I like the format a lot. It tends to focus the conversation on actual tactics and combos rather than just list building.

Keep 'em up! They're great reads and one stop shops for specific mechanics. I've favorited a few of them for re reference.
Etahn A’baht (32)
Lone Wolf (2)
Sensor Jammer (4)
R2-F2 (3)
Experimental Interface (3)
Seems like the green maneuvers and Range 1-2 restriction would make it difficult to capitalize on his pilot ability. I do like a good defensive build, though, shoring up the notoriously unreliable green dice.
Jek Porkins (26)
Predator (3)
R5-D8 (3)
Experimental Interface (3)
A slight alternative to Push the Limit, R5-D8, and Hull Upgrade. I suspect they're reasonably similar to play. PtL Jek is a lot of fun, too.

R7-T1 (3)
Experimental Interface (3)
I hadn't considered the possibility of the double Target Lock, that's interesting. Might be hard to pull off, but at the very least this combo gets "Dutch" TL + Focus + Boost + TL for a friend. I love Rebel synergy builds, so this is probably worth trying.
Scimitar Squadron Pilot (16)

Experimental Interface (3)
Novel idea. Bit of a one-trick-space-pony, though.
Bounty Hunter (33)

Experimental Interface (3)
Double-stressing something other than Tycho doesn't really sound appealing. Add the cost of a Wingman for at least 16 points, bringing the total to 55, and it seems like a lot of effort for a little gain. That said, with the right Wingman you've got two ships each with Focus + Evade or some other useful action. Now, to figure out a suitable Wingman…
Eaden Vrill (32)
Lando Calrissian (3)
Experimental Interface (3)
With a great dial and Barrel Roll, doing green moves every turn shouldn't be a big issue. But I agree having some R3-A2, Flechette, or Tactician action in the rest of the list is a must. I am a fan of Lando, though. Heck, even taking a Focus action you could end up with 3 tokens and possibly able to take on multiple enemies at once.
Chewbacca (42)
Predator (3)
“Leebo” (2)
Nien Nunb (1)
Experimental Interface (3)
Solid and creative, but I have a hard time seeing it as better than PtL, Engine, Nien, and MF Title. Same cost, but you have access to Evade and don't Ionize yourself. The small tradeoff is Predator still being useful when bumping. I would like to find a use for "Leebo" though. I got excited about crewing him in a small ship with Feedback Array because you wouldn't care about getting two Ion tokens in the same turn. But alas "Leebo" is Rebel only and Rebels don't have access to Illicit upgrades (yet).
Captain Oicunn (42)
Predator (3)
Saboteur (2)
Ysanne Isard (4)

I really love how Ysanne can set up EI/PtL at the start of combat. This looks like a good offensive juggernaut to get straight into the middle of combat, Saboteur and all.
Tycho Celchu (26)
Push the Limit (3)
Chardaan Refit (-2)
Daredevil (3) / Expert Handling (2)
Experimental Interface (3)
A-Wing Test Pilot (0)
Really not sure which I like better, but how can you not like that kind of maneuverability? I'd probably go with EH more often, as I'm pretty comfortable flying Interceptors and it also saves me a point.

Ysanne Isard (4)

I want to like Ten, I really do. There's a lot of offense here, but he's just so pricey. ![]()
Airen Cracken (19)
Squad Leader (2)
Experimental Interface (3)
On the flip side, this is pretty cheap! I haven't flown Airen much, but I like the idea of handing out all this actions. Kinda makes him a target, though, and he's not exactly tough.

I'm actually planning on writing a topic like this soon, just trying to figure out which card: either Lone Wolf, or Intidimation.
Oooo.
Lone wolf on N'Dru Suhlak! 19 point ship that has three attack, two agility and a reroll on each. Add a hull upgrade and you have yourself a 22 pt PS7 X Wing-eek ship. Not bad for being one more point than a rookie.

Alright, Lone Wolf it will be! Expect a topic about it within the next 2 days
Then of course the one someone mentioned before:

What a waste of EI.

Why a waste??
A PTL that doesn't take up the EPT slot with a restriction that you have to use upgrade actions not actions in the action bar.
So if you had something like Experimental interface and engine upgrade or targeting computer experimental interface will not allow you to focus and use the boost for EU or the TL from targeting computers as they are not actions from upgrade cards. The upgrade just puts more actions in the action bar.
Now what it does work with is things like expert handeling or R2-F2. Put that on an Horn with R2-F2 and it can evade and + 1 agility. Or an Tycho so he can boost and expert handling barrel roll.
