Some thoughts about Yula.

By Semai, in Tannhauser

I recently bought Yula and her stats, rules and usability gave me some thoughts.

First, isnt she just a lesser Eva Krämer?

Her stats is lower. Her pistol is worser. The hand to hand weapon is interesting, but still worser than Evas.

Yes, Yula can disable an opponent, but Eva would probably with the same dicescore just kill instead.

The other abilities arent particulary strong for Yula either.

So why use her`instead of Eva?

Dont really see why you want to change the general or herman either since they both are in my oppinion better heroes than Eva.

So, when do you guys use Yula?

And some rulequestions about her.

When does the effect of the disarm manouver take effect? If I for example manages to disarm mister browns knife, must he use his lowest combat row to defend my attack?

Yula, as she is in the pack when you pick her up, isn't very good.

However TOY realized this and promptly made 2 tokens of the month that can severely change to odds in favour of a player who wants to use Blutsturm over Obscura Corps.

First Yulas own token: "Backstab" is amazing, making her a tactical nuke. The token does this: When Yula makes an attack against a character and neither Yula, nor that character was on the same path last turn (ie: Has moved this turn) Yula deals 1 autowound to that character after shockroll.

Now, this is very good, because if she combos with her stamina pack and switches "backstab" for her silencer you get a lot of good stuff with her.

She attacks and if you roll a 10 on one of your dice opponent drops a weapon (your choise) and recieves hits +1 (Krueger) and then after shockroll takes 2 autowounds. This works especially well on hard to hit characers because the autowounds can't be healed (because you heal after shockroll, but before Autowounds, if the rules state it is so, which they do in this instance)

5 dice (her attack) gives you a 50% chance to get a 10. Even if you don't she still makes an autowound as long as she attacks someone who's already moved and are on a different path than last turn. This is the same effect as a handgrenade and it is an ability that can win you games, especially against Union becuase their close combat potential is worse than the Reich's.

The second token that has come out as a token of the month is "Twin Strike".

This token is equipped only to a blutsturm character and it does: Whenever another blutsturm agent attacks a character and is on the same path as this character, this character gets a free attack on the same enemy, and the character uses her lowest combat value, the successes are added to the other characters attack and the shockroll is made against the first characters combat.

In short this gives the wearer 3 extra combat dice. I use this on Eva, because if she rolls 1 10 with Strafe she will almost guaranteed kill off whomever she's hitting (apart from Zor'ka who is immune).

There is a last token to use with Blutsturm agents, it's called "Wunderstahl" and helps them with that glass jaw of theirs, the weared of WunderStahl gets 5 5 5 5 as her health stat.

The tokens are available for download on Tannbunker (check out the post for other Tannhauser sites on this forum) and from the french site.

Furthermore Backstab and Twin Strike are available in Daedalus who'll arrive sometime in the near future on english, but is already available in french.

Heizinger, Yula, Eva and two Stosstruppen is a force to be rekconed with, and even if you only have 1 stosstruppen it still works, because the Shocktruppen is great also.

I acually play Yula more than I play Ozo, even though Ozo is great I just like the quick close combat Reich better.

And finally, I think the new legend character for Reich, Hass Horbringer, is a Blutsturm agent as well... So who knows, maybe you'll soon be playing completely without Heizinger or Ozo.
