Dear community,
I bought Tide of Iron last summer at a gaming store in another state I visit once a year for a lakefront cabin retreat with a bunch of old chums.
Our attempts at playing were doomed by my failing to understand that the "moves per turn" that each side gets (e.g. 3) represents how many pieces are moved in each alternation between players, not the TOTAL number of piece moves you get before you do the end phase. OOPS.
(I know from the forums that others have made that mistake, so I hope they've updated the rules for clarity on this).
Anyway, this made me want to try to find a local opponent in the Washington DC metro area-- not only to have a greater opportunity to play than once a year, but also to learn the rules better!
I am hoping anyone near DC who would like to play could contact me. I would be able to come to you. Realistically, since I have small kids, it would be a late evening game after I help the missus put them to bed.
Since the game is so large, I have left my copy with a friend in the other state rather then schlepping it on airlines!
Let me know if you'd like to play!
Jim
