Does anyone play Starwars The Old Republic? The MMORPG?

By Kingsguard, in X-Wing

The Galactic Starfighter Minigame within The Old republic is pretty awesome. I see X-Wing Miniatures as a tabletop version of it. Very fun. I'd really love to see some of the GSF ships in X-Wing sometime. But not the gunships. Leave those out! Wonder if FFG would talk to Bioware about that.....

Republic Pike would be especially neat.

Wrong era.

^ this

They're called uglies. That top one looks like someone threw an X-wing and HWK at a wall at the same time.

Yea the era is off about by say a good 4000 years from the galactic civil war. And as some people doubt we might even get Prequel and Clone Wars era ships I think the only way you might see these is by customs or shapeways.

I tried but I hit alderaan and ground to a screeching halt, and all the stuff locked behind pay walls...

Those fighters won't be around thousands of years later I doubt we'll ever see them in x-wing.

I would love some of the Swtor ships. They all have a flavourful design to them but, the same with the Clone wars stuff, wrong time frame.

That said I think at some point, FFG will look elsewhere for new ships. Won't be any time soon though.

I think it is funny how the Sith stuff looks so Imperial and the Republic Stuff looks more Rebellion. I totally get why they did it, but the Empire is an evolution of the Republic.

I get that there is thousand of years between the SWTOR and the classic erra, but of the two I would still think the Imperial stuff would look more Republic than Sith.

I mean is their something about the dark side of the force that makes you want to build dagger shaped cruisers and TIE style fighters?

That all being said those ships do look cool. I really enjoyed SWTOR when I had time to play.

I was one of the early adopters of SW: TOR and although somewhat derivative gameplay wise it had absolutely fantastic production values, graphics, voice acting, storyline and multiplayer. I didn't stick around for the free-to-play conversion as server merges killed off my guild and the game was somewhat lacking in the end-game content department, but while it lasted it was pretty fun. It could have been so much better, of course, but it had some of the best voice acting and stories of any RPG I'v played.

If you ignore the MMO aspect and just played through all the group quest campaigns it was better than both the KOtORs all told.

Fury class interceptors would be nice, but the design of the current generation of fighters in game leaves me cold.

This. Alll the pay walls and ultimately it's just another MMO. At least galaxies had city construction. Also, you know, single player elements to space combat.

Not anymore I don't. Galactic Starfighter was okay but I'd rather have Attack Squadrons back.

And I'm definitely not returning for that whack DLC they're doing.

I play it, but I hate the ship designs.

I would love some of the Swtor ships.

Played once, never again. Can't believe that fail of a sequel of KotOR, replaced SWG :(.

RIP SWG.

I still remember being a beta tester for JTL.

They have to borrow some looks from established starwars eras to try and give it a familiar starwars feel I believe.

You can use ingame money to buy a lot of that stuff.

Heeey somebody agrees with me at least

I especially liked the Imperial Agent's Light side storyline.

Some are good. Some are not.

I'd play KotOR III.

I used to play a lot, now I play very rarely. Still have it installed though.

I'd play KotOR III.

And 4, 5, 6...

I'd play KotOR III.

Did you play swtor? Cause if you did, according to the devs you did play kotor 3.

And 4, 5, 6...

No. That's rubbish. SWTOR was nowhere NEAR as wonderful as KotOR

Don't tell the Devs that. They think they're writing war and peace.

I play it. 6 different single player campaigns for free is cool, whole RP potential is nice, and they keep adding stuff

I usually love Bioware PC/companion romance arcs. I listened to the "light side" "inquisitor" "romance" the togruta "jedi". It was like having a pig vomit into my ears while a mule kicked me in the nuts.
