Scum, We Hardly Know Ye, But I Already Like What I See

By ObiWonka, in X-Wing

Thanks to a couple topics on what little Scum information we already have, I'm already geeked out to try this squad:

IG-88 A/B/C/D (36) x2

+ IG-2000 (0)

+ Advanced Sensors (3)

N'Dru Suhlak (17)

+ Hull Upgrade (3)

+ Lone Wolf (2)

Self-made Scum X-Wing flanker and a pair of maneuverable, tough, ability-sharing beasts. I love it! And there can only be more goodies on the way!

I would try to fit engine upgrades on the IGs (unless they already have boost?).

Yep, according to the preview article the IG's have Focus, Target Lock, Evade, and Boost.

Not too shabby a start, even if N'Dru is still just a little vulnerable. I'm assuming you're using I.G. 88-D since it's the only unit we know about, as well as the 2000 Title?

Well, it could be any of the IG-88s, assuming they cost the same. But yes, I forgot the IG-2000 title, added now, thanks!

I too cannot wait till S & V Gets here, In fact here is a list you can actually play with ships already available:

Boba Fett + VI + Inertial Dampeners 41

N’Dru + Lone Wolf + Cluster Missiles 23

Binayre Pirate 12

Binayre Pirate 12

Binayre Pirate 12

If I have time this weekend I might even give it a spin.

How dare you actually like something. Haven't you gotten the memo? Everything is OP, or broken, or FFG's fault. Nothing is good, regardless of reality. It all must be whined about constantly, nevermind how much or little we know. Being excited about a bit of information? That's right out. ;)

My only concern is does S&V play like a different faction or more like dark rebelves?

Having 3 ships from the Rebel alliance it may be too similar to the rebels or the Firespray-31 and MA-3s might make meta squadrons closer to Imperial meta squadrons.

I think it's safe to say that I'm excited about IG-88D.

I would try to get Inertial Dampeners on the IG-88s.

I do like N'dru with Lone Wolf. Wish you could get Cluster Missiles on him, but there aren't the points. If you hadn't noticed, he gets his extra attack dice on both Cluster attacks. Plus a reroll from Lone Wolf.

I'm excited for Scum. I've already got the Mandalorian polo shirt from Think Geek. That alone makes them my defacto faction. Let's go Scummers!

I am so excited for Scum & Villiany. I have been drooling all over myself since the latest article was released. I can't wait to play with the new toys. Too bad IG-88 comes in at 36 points. I was hoping we could run 3 of them in a stardard 100-point game :(

Love it! This is actually pretty close to a list I was putting together for fun based on revealed ships:

Prince Xizor (31)
Veteran Instincts (1)
Accuracy Corrector (3)
Inertial Dampeners (1)
Virago (1)
Serissu (20)
Swarm Tactics (2)
Stealth Device (3)
Binayre Pirate (12)
Feedback Array (2)
Binayre Pirate (12)
Binayre Pirate (12)
Total: 100
It could work as a defensive mini-swarm, since Sirrisu is a Howlrunner-opposite. Meanwhile Xizor pumps out consistent damage and spreads damage throughout the team as an anti-focus fire. Expose might be better on him though, since he wants to draw fire on him so you can choose where to inefficiently (for the enemy) spread damage to.

Expose might be better on him though

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh wait, you were being serious??

Yep, yours was one of the threads I was referring to. :) Speaking of Cluster Missiles, this...

N'Dru (17)

+ Cluster Missiles (4)

+ "Hot Shot" Blaster (3)

+ Hull Upgrade (3)

+ Lone Wolf (2)

Costs the same as naked Wedge. Let that sink in. The trade-in value of 2PS and -1 Agility to defenders is Cluster Missiles with +1 Attack each, a one-shot 4-dice turret, and a free offensive and defensive re-roll, as long as you stay more than Range 2 from friendlies!

Granted there's still a lot we don't know, but I get the feeling three 33-point IG-2000s sharing abilities might have been a tad strong at 100 points.

Expose might be better on him though

HAHA...etc

Shoot, you're right. I got too excited about drawing attacks to him so you can dump it across the team.

I'm keen to see what can be done with the scyk and want to know a bit more about the star viper.

The IG won't be in my initial purchase it's nice but he was never my favourite bounty hunter.

I'm really interested in His Highness Prince Xizor:

The points are outrageously good for those stats and that action bar. The dial could be mediocre and this would still be a good deal, but I bet it will also look pretty good. The Prince's ability is a little hard to utilize well, since oppponents can simply target whatever punching bag is following him around. The trick is to make His Royalness into a really potent threat, so that your enemy pays a premium for ignoring him and shooting his punching bag instead.

I like the viper more prone to getting crit but that extra agility Is nice In trade, as the s&v x-wing it's looking good so far.
