Labyrinth of Ruin: Which interlude to choose? (As Overlord)

By Funkfried, in Descent: Journeys in the Dark

Good evening,

as it is my first time playing the campaign of labyrinth of ruin I'm indecisive which interlude to choose from an overlord point of view. Both sound luck based and together with modest reinforcements rather biased towards the heroes. To date I would choose Pilgrimage, but just because it is only one mission and therefore fewer chances to get items for the heroes.

Any advice and/or tactical input is truly appreciated.

Best regards

Funkfried

I haven't played Pilgrimage. Our OL won Fortune and Glory, but he got lucky. Planning from a search perspective is not at all a bad option. Our OL has succeeded in cutting down our gold significantly by playing every single-encounter quest he can.

Is there anyone with experience playing Pilgrimage willing to share some advice?

Pilgrimage can be tough or easy depending on where the guardians spawn. I like it because it's a single encounter quest.

Yeah, thats my reasoning too. Do you have advice for the open group? I'm currently looking at the harpies to quickly burn down the statue right in front of them via swarm, but after that is probably a really open game with little reinforcement on the side of the overlord.

Lost, heroes persuited the open group right from the start, bad luck with guardian positions and lots of bad dice throws on my side. A night to forget ;-)
