One of the new TIE Pilots to come with the Imperial Transport/Gozanti TIE Carrier?

By xanderf, in X-Wing

So, yeah, a few assumptions already:

  • An Imperial 'huge' ship will be the Transport/Gozanti TIE Carrier from Rebels (safe assumption)
  • Owing to how much smaller than the Rebel Transport it is, it will come with two TIE Fighters vs the one X-Wing of the Rebel Transport (less safe assumption, but reasonably believable - and I hope they are painted ESB/RotJ 'blue')

But, if so...is this our new TIE ace?

OOoooooohh.

I couldn't watch the video for some reason. How about an analog description ;)

Where is this from? Was that a Star Wars Rebels thing I missed?

Anyway, to respond to your question... possible, maybe? I know FFG was really big on not touching prequel stuff, and that everything was going to remain in the rebellion era. So would Rebels fall under that? I am not sure.

That would then add to the question of Episodes VII, VIII, and IX and any ships that will be introduced there. Will we eventually see them in X-Wing as well? Or are those off limits. What adds Rebels stuff where Sequel stuff is not?

My line of thinking is that as some point they will have to expand their horizons just a bit, otherwise we will run out of recognizable ships from the movies and TV shows, or Release a second Edition of the game.

Clouded the Future is....

Seems like, yeah - there is a 'Holonet News' site broadcasting "the news from Lothal". It seems it gets updated roughly in line with new episodes/videos appearing online, so must be part of the marketing arm of the series or something.

Analog description: They give a name to a TIE Fighter Test pilot who is testing new ships... so of course the theory is that this guy will end up in the game some time...

Imperial Aces II: TIE Advanced

Baron Valon Rudhor.

Since they've said that Rebels isn't going to be a direct inspiration for x-wing, I would say definitely no, unless he appears in something else as well.

After all the size comparisons it's not an epic ship it's a large in my mind I really can't see them making us wait all this time for a midget cruiser.

Nope. The Imperial huge ship is gonna have a TIE Advanced, because it desperately needs fixing.

Yyyyeah...they pretty much said the exact opposite of that.

"We've got some new content coming out with the new cartoon"

And...'if there was some kind of awesome new starfighter revealed to us, in the Rebels TV show, we'd take a very hard look at integrating that into our future plans'.

Not even close.

Nah, I think it makes more sense that it's a small-epic vs the most-massive-'large'-the-game-will-ever-see.

Notably, because it also makes sense (given practically every scene we see it in has it carrying TIE Fighters) to have it ship with a pair of new TIE Fighters and pilots (ergo, this thread). So having it use the 'huge' rules but ship in the 1/270 of 'fighter' scale, and come in smaller than the Rebel Transport and feature 2 TIE Fighters vs 1 X-Wing...I'd say that would be fair for its price. And sure, it might fit on only a single base, but I still think the 'huge' rules best describe the feel of it from what we've seen in the show.

You cant have the empire famous for its big ships having that small thing as their epic ship its a joke, a bad one.

I'm pretty sure if you re-read the OP, then re-read my post, you'll realise I was talking about the pilot. So...not sure why you are talking about star ships.

@Bakura83: The FFG announcement at GenCon suggested, at least to me, that they would use cool stuff from "Rebels" if it fit the game but not in the animated or cartoony style (whether ships or pilots or other material).

Sure, they could do a Gozanti, and they could do Rudhor. Neither would be terribly surprising to me.

I think the Inquisitors Tie Advanced from the show is going to be pretty much a shoe in and allows them to fix the Tie advanced.

I have to laugh out loud , whenever I hear that FFG would never add this that or the other thing lol...Major shift in the winds of the gaming world and only time will tell on what is in store for us all...

So he is the kiddy Rebels version of Baron Soontir Fel?? No thanks, I'll pass.
