I could've sworn Hidalgo confirmed that TFU is non-canon.

I could've sworn Hidalgo confirmed that TFU is non-canon.

I think it's simply in the same state that all the rest of the EU is. Not really canon, but still there for them to use if they want.

I have a feeling Rebels will continue her story arc.

I thought cannon was as follows:

All the existing movies

The following TV shows: The Clone Wars and SW: Rebels (so Ewoks, Droids and the Holiday Special are not cannon)

The upcoming movies.

Everything else is now legends, basically one notch above fan fiction (in that at one time LFL signed off on it).

Honestly, I think the EU clean up was bloody warranted. Some of that stuff was plain awful and retarded. Yuuzhan Vong? Dark Troopers? Star Killer? the Sun Crusher?

Its a pity the Timothy Zahn books were squelched, but stuff like the Witches of Dagormah, and the Truce at Bakura, all the New Jedi Academy books (I had to stop reading that crap, and it was like 18 years ago).

Its also a pity that KOTOR is now only legends, as Revan was cool. But stuff like Darth Talon, mind you hot, but seriously, we dont need the fantasies of 13 year old boys in the EU.

I'm pretty sure I saw a quote about someone saying that TFU is not canon. Or, that they are ignoring it.

I thought cannon was as follows:

Effectively there's 2 levels of canon now.

Canon and Legends.

The movies, and the Clone Wars tv show is canon. Anything and everything published from this point forwards is considered canon, that includes comic's, novels and games.

Everything from EU is now called Legends, and is some sort of quasi-canon, not really but kinda, unless someone says otherwise.

I'm pretty sure I saw a quote about someone saying that TFU is not canon.

Well at one point I believe they considered it Canon, and not just game-canon but closer to being G-Canon, because George put his stamp of approval on it.

But now it's at best Legends stuff, that means it's at best something they can ignore at will.

Okay, I've been watching Rebels and I watched The Clone Wars. And I have a question, what exactly happened to Ahsoka Tano? I remember when TCW first came out and reading an interview praising the show for having a strong female role model. But I read it thinking, "Yeah, but doesn't she have to get 66'd or somehow quit being a Jedi prior to survive?" So is that what happened or what? Because there's obviously no mention of her in EPIII. Curious as to the community's thoughts on this and where Ezra too must ultimately end up.

Hopefully she found a strong mother or father figure who could firmly but supportively tell her to pull her **** pants up and put on a shirt...

They let ugly chick(S) be Jedi? WHEN? I can only remember Yaddle, and I just always assumed they thought she was a dude.

I could've sworn Hidalgo confirmed that TFU is non-canon.

He actually said every thing in EU is noncanon, but he deleted that comment. Later other important writers have said everything is canon until contradicted and even then it can be fixed and or only the major details are noncanon.

No actually games are undecided, not legends, or just canon till proven otherwise going by what has been most recently said. Everything that is considered legends is canon until proven otherwise or like I said above amended / hand wave because thats what the creator of Mara Jade said he would do.

I'm pretty sure I saw a quote about someone saying that TFU is not canon. Or, that they are ignoring it.

Yeah they are ignoring it. Truthfully I think with the most recent posts about canon they are lieing when they say "we misunderstood there canon account" and in effect telling us now that it actually is all canon until proven otherwise BECAUSE of the backlash caused by the lady who made that video. The next day she was telling people on twitter everything old is noncanon no matter what, even if said materiel is complimented by new material.

Disney doesn't want to lose fans / money, so I think they changed there minds about just flat out throwing everything away. Hence why right now they say everything is canon until shown otherwise nd even then if its contradicted it may just be the major details, and then the writer saying he will fix any contradictions with his novels and the new materiel coming out.

OH and it sounds like Mara Will nor be canonically dead by the time she did die in a different SW universe.

Don't forget Elves... Jedi Master Fey...

Guys, the question is this, when does Echo appear? In an article Filoni made thanking TCW fans, he said at the end: And P.S. I know this means a lot to you guys so I'll spoil it, Echo is still alive (or something to that effect)

Well, if everything published here on out is cannon, that means the E-wing, Z95, TIE Defender, TIE Phantom, YT-2400 outrider, and the Decimator is all cannon. Not 100% sure on the pilots, but the ships at least are still all here.

I don't know when, but I hope eventually. I always thought the clone-focused episodes were the best Clone Wars had to offer, so I'd love to see a return of at least one of them.

Also since based of the promotional bits for Rebels kinda proposes that they are the spark of rebellion inspiring others to act the whole Force Unleashed story where Starkiller essentially creates the Rebellion is no longer set in stone. Even without the fact that it is no longer canon due to Disney.

I don't particularly like the idea of this band of rouges inspiring a galaxy into motion, if that is the intention but it is what it is.

Since Luminara turns up in Rebels anyone could really, Ahsoka is either working at space Hooters or in hiding somewhere

I could not be happier that rebels is erasing Force Unleashed.

As for rogues inspiring a rebellion - I don't mind it. They aren't straight up morally dead scoundrels, they do help others at great cost to themselves. I don't have a problem with their semi-self-serving antics causing others to look at the results and start to think that if a gang of petty outlaws can hamper the Empire, maybe ordinary people can resist as well.

I don't think that is their intention, they aren't the founders of the Rebellion but the spark that sets it off. At the end of episode 3 we have the main characters for the rebellion already decided they were against the empire and figuring out what to do with baby luke and leia. Bail Organa and them didn't just sit on their butts for over 15 years doing nothing, maybe Obiwan did. Rebels just shows them that the galaxy is now ready for open rebellion against the empire, no longer do they have to work behind the scenes on in the shadows against the empire.

Everything that is considered legends is canon until proven otherwise

The EU was never really considered Canon, not G-Canon anyway. So effectively nothing really changed with what Disney said, because Lucas always was quite willing to ignore anything in the EU if he wanted.

The status of the EU was always "it's sorta canon on unless contradicted by a higher source". Since it can be ignored at will, it is not canon, it's at best quasi-canon which quite frankly is kinda a contradiction in terms.

I don't particularly like the idea of this band of rouges inspiring a galaxy into motion, if that is the intention but it is what it is.

I doubt that they're the ones who start it. Such a thing is too large to be started by a single group. If anything they're just one of a number of rebel cells out there that are independent and may not even know of each other yet. But their actions could very well inspire others to form their own cells.

Guys, there is a word for what the EU is as opposed to canon: "Apocryphal"

She was expelled from the Order for a crime she did not commit. She was found not guilty, and she was allowed back into the Order, but she didn't join them, she just simply quit. Some say she went to the Coruscant underground. So if you have a problem, if no one else can help, and if you can find her, maybe you can hire Ashoka Tano.

Ashoka Tano pities fools.

Guys, there is a word for what the EU is as opposed to canon: "Apocryphal"

That's not completely correct. Apocryphal means something that is untrue and the EU isn't necessarily invalid it's mostly just unknown...

Something is considered apocryphal when it's in conflict with the established canon.

Also since based of the promotional bits for Rebels kinda proposes that they are the spark of rebellion inspiring others to act the whole Force Unleashed story where Starkiller essentially creates the Rebellion is no longer set in stone. Disney hasnt made SWTFU noncanon. As for this show it has Rebels in it, there are craploads of Rebel Forces, including some that never Joined the Rebel Alliance. The "Rebel Alliance is what Star Killer helps form. There were plenty of Rebel forces before the Alliance was created.

If anything all these guys are doing is encouraging people to Rebel not form the Rebel Alliance.
