I began to wonder about the storyline in the VoI and Ring-maker cycle and ... Did you think that in the VoI, Saruman had already Palantir? Because I thought that maybe Heroes will find it in Ost-In-Edhil in AP "Celebrimbor's Secret" and then provide it to Saruman.
Saruman and Palantir in VoI and Ring-maker cycle
The stone of Orthanc had been there since its construction by the Dunedain. It was already there when Saruman went to live in Orthanc.
With that said, my personal theory of what's going to happen in the resolution of the cycle is that the heroes are ultimately helping Saruman forge his own ring of power. We know from the Fellowship of the Ring that Saruman had been delving into the arts of crafting and ring-making (he calls himself the Ring-Maker and has a ring of his own when Gandalf goes to Orthanc), so it's only fitting that his intent is to use Celebrimbor's forge and its secrets, or its materials or whatever, to make his own ring and thus pose a great threat to Sauron. We know however how that turns out...

hmmm that can be very cool! Hope you right!
I wish! But the article said it will be a Rohan hero.
Oh, yeah, totally forgot that. Well, with that all hopes for Saruman hero are ceased. No way he is going to be the hero of this upcoming swamp AP, neither of the next dunedain cycle. I'm silent about Lord of the Rings Saga ![]()
He can be in Dunadan cycle why not?
In saga he vill be probably enemy or kind of objective….

I did not know about that Palantir was already there when Saruman went to live in Orthanc (if it was in the book LOTR? quite a long time I read LOTR so I can not remember it). Thanks Gizlivadi for this information ![]()
Still waiting for a cycle in which our heroes are actually successful at doing good.
Mirkwood: "Hey, you brought Gollum back to Mirkwood! Wait, what's that sneaking off in the woods?"
Dwarrowdelf: "RUN! RUN FROM THE BALROG!"
Against the Shadow: "Thanks for helping Gondor. Did I mention I'm evil?"
Ringmaker: "So, I need you to get me these secret plans...for a Ring of Power."

Haha loved this! Sad but true... there are also all the poor misunderstood Wose and Dunlendings you kill along the way!
Personally I don't care for the Dunlendings at all whether they've been wronged or no and love slicing through them, the Wose/Druadan I do feel bad for though.
Edited by PsychoRockaYeah, and still we got no Wose heroes/allies, even after we "reasoned" with them... When did Theoden allied with them? During war of the ring?
Yupp, during his journey to the Minas Tirith, they came along a forest and the chief wanted to talk to them and gave them a secret route to the pelennor Fields. As long as the Rohirrim would kill the Orcs, they would have peace.

Though I would have felt far more sorry if they weren't bunch of thieving... prowling thieves!
