basic questions

By Nuke0504, in X-Wing Rules Questions

My friend and I were doing mission T-4 in the CR-90 expansion. We had a few arguments on rulings.

1. When measuring closest to closest is it regard to the firing arc if it is not a turret weapon.

Example: Measuring closest to closest the enemy is range 2 not regarding the firing arc and is range 3 regarding the firing arc. Which do you go by? I say it is the closest to closest regarding the firing arc so in the example it would be range 3. Am I right?

2. When my friend got a crit on the forward end of the CR-90, it said spend one energy to perform an action. Does that refer to actions performed by both forward and aft sections of the ship?

Thank you

I found the answer to Part 1. I turned out being right. I am having a hard time on Part 2 still

Huge ship rukes clearly states that each section can perform the action on its action bar or an action from an Upgrade or Damage card on that section.

The damage card I am asking about is "The Secondary Drive Failure" It states, " You must spend 1 energy to perform any action." It's a damage card for the Forward section. Do I have to spend an energy to perform an action on the aft section? If the forward section becomes crippled does that damage card goes away?

I agree it is not clear from the rules.

I would assume that the damage card affects only the fore section.

In general upgrade cards affect both swctions except hardpoints. For Damage cards with the Action header can only be performed by the section they are assigned to so I beleive this is true for all damage cards on a section.
