Secrets of the Calixis sector

By Chrysalis2, in Dark Heresy

Hi,

I'm going to be giving my band of new Inquisitors soul crushing secrets from the Calixis Sector (and perhaps beyond).

So far I have the following:

  1. Who sits on the Throne of Terra?
  2. The truth of the Storm Watchers Space Marine Chapter and the Nemesis Incident
  3. The truth of Saint Drusus and the Temple Tendency
  4. Komus the Tyrant Star

I need a total of 8 secrets or more. What other aspects of the Calxis Sector can I invoke. Halo Devices? Chaos corruption? The tainted blood of Malfi?

Thanks,

-C

Why do you need 8 or more? Those 4 alone are more than enough material for a good campaign.

I'm going to set the opening scene 20 years to the future.

The PCs are at the Blind Tesseract at Mara and have a chance to contact their former selves in the past, the future selves have lost, so all they can do is send back something they know.

Outside of the game I'm going to place each secret in an envelope and place them on the table. They can then pick up the envelope and read one of the secrets at the cost of 5 corruption points. They can then choose to share it with the group - or not. They do not get to pick all 8, some secrets will remain unopened.

They are inquistors with some history, so the secrets need to be soul crushig events that have happened in their past. For example with the first. They opened up the tomb of Sanguinus to find the body of Mercador the Sigilite instead with a message from the Emperor challenging the watcher to come search for him in Calxis expanse.

Another aided the rise of Saint Drusus before they found out how truly mad he is. Now they have unleashed him onto the sector, before he was but Lord Militant, now he's also a living saint.

Well off the top of my head.

the identities of the seven devils of the Expance.

The Haydes locks purpose

What's behind the omega lock in the watch fortress of deathwatch

The date, time, and reason behind an important figure's death (I'd suggest it not be a player character.)

What will actually happen if Haarlock returns/if he doesn't. Each should be rather poor.

The truth that the Menagerie (a cult in the Calaxis) is actually working towards an end goal that is positive.

R'hley was a place (Cthulhu's home) It's now a planet in the sector, I'd suggest Sleef.

The fact that Necrons exist and are waking up.

There's always the truth behind what the Void Dragon is and what exactly it is doing on Mars.

Erasmus Haarlock will continue to return as the Herald of Komus, the Tyrant Star.

A vastly powerful and ancient being, known as the architect that was trapped by its people before he could unleash his weapons on the imperium.

Solomon Haarlock will be dogging their steps as letters, diary entries and psychic whispers and dreams.

The PCs will find the first secret is that they are the scions of the Haarlock dynasty...

  1. The truth of the Storm Watchers Space Marine Chapter and the Nemesis Incident

?? do you mean Storm Wardens, or is there a Watchers group too?

like in Highlander, and yes I can the Inquisition doing this

The Slaught are coming.

And only one that can stop them is Erasimus Harlock.

Well the Slaught have no love for the Haarlock line. That's kind of the point of the Haarlock trilogy, it's him returning or them eventually engulfing the sector.

I'll probably use that. They have a choice between having Erasmus Haarlock return or then the Slaught taking over.

I already have Ahzek Ahriman as one of the enemies they will be fighting against.

I skipped the Slaught, there are enough creatures running around to be confusing.

I have all of the secrets and future events written up and printed.

As some of my players may or may not be here, if anyone wants to see them, please send me a message.

  6. Carcosa
  7. The Omega Vault
  8. The Seven Devils
  9. The death of Sector Governor Marius Hax

9 Future events

Aw man they missed out with not taking carcosa.

Nice ones,

Altough R'lyeh is technically on earth (Terra) so might i suggest some more cthulhu mythos locations?

Yith (Homeworld of the Great Race), Yaddith (where the Dholes live) and Shaggai (the insects of shaggai) The star Aldebaraan (associated with hastur) In one of the HH novels there are even hints that the imperial place is built partly on the Plateau of Leng!

I really like any 40k/ H.P. Lovecraft crossovers!

I will say that one of the secrets involved a famous poem and the phrase "No mask! No mask!".

I used this in my Larp when all the players inadvertently invoked the king in yellow! Crossovers with HP Lovecraft are so easy and good!
