my question was do you get to roll the extra dice for attack with the gunner re roll or not?

Just so you know, the reason Vrill's ability applies as long as the defender is stressed is because Gunner does not actually re-roll, it triggers an entirely separate attack that triggers Vrill's ability.

For example, if Opportunist was triggered on the first attack, which missed, and Gunner caused a second attack, that second attack would not benefit from Opportunist (unless you could somehow clear the stress caused by the first Opportunist before the beginning of the second attack, allowing you to trigger it again).
