Playing a 100pt game against a friend tomorrow and decided to go with the following list for a laugh.

Vader with proton rockets, engine upgrade and Wingman

Reason for Wingman is to take the stress off his escorts.

2 Royal Guard ties with PTL, Targeting Computer, Royal Guard tie and Shield Upgrade.

The Interceptors tend to have a better dial than the Tie Advanced so giving Vader the Engine Upgrade helps him keep pace to an extent. Using his ability to PTL without stress will help with this also. Giving him Wingman lets him remove a stress from one of the Interceptors who have to use the PTL. The proton rockets will hopefully let me buzzsaw a B-wing.

I like Vader, Turr, Backstabber, and an Alpha. It was one of my kinda go to lists from Wave 2 and with proton rockets on Vader it might be even better. Should be enough points left in there for the relevant upgrades.

I have played against Vader with proton rockets, predator, and engine upgrade... and it is brutal!

Well I fought against my friend. He ended up bringing the following.

Keyan with PTL, flechette, HLC, FCS, E2 with Kyle.

2 Stock Bandits

Gemmer with proton, munitions failsafe, Marksmanship and A Wing test pilot.

Basically Keyan got take down at turn 3 by Vader with the proton rockets granted Vader and an Interceptor whittled Keyan down to 1 shield and 3 hull the turn before. Turn 4 ended up with a Z getting popped and Turn 5 was the last Z getting nailed.

i emerged with one Interceptor with 1 hull and Vader with 1 shield and a fully intact Interceptor. Meanwhile Gemmer was down to 2 hull.

Giving Vader wingman was a big help and I hope I played it right where I only destressed one Royal per turn. Also Gemmer is a PITA to hit at range 1 of someone. Though I did not get the sting of Gemmer's proton rocket because the one time he needed to use his focus he needed it for an evade. Other than that I did admittedly roll very hot and with the exception of my friend's evades for Gemmer his rolls sucked big time.

I think I'd much rather have predator on vader. Though I can't see what you did with wingman instead. Sounds like it worked well.

I tend to think that targeting computer is a frill that you shouldn't take often because an extra focus or evade or movement is usually just fine.

Rockets are fun.

Just a little question here but, how is it old style when the missile is from Rebel Aces and the EPT from wave 4? Team looks fun to play though.

I've been loving flying the Dark Lord myself. So far he's like an Interceptor (alway has EU) with MUCH more flexibility. I've actually often found it easier to get those Range 1 shots with him because I can pull 3 turns and banks whenever I choose. Now I need to get Wave 4 so I can slap OM on him.

Well the Rockets were the only thing that was technically new and most people aren't using Tie Advanced due to their age so to speak.
