New Star Wars Rebels Ships?

By Rebel23, in X-Wing

Because X-wing doesn't have enough YTs...

Bytheway... In case this topic goes back to what the title says.

The problem with the Ghost is that it would be slightly too big for the game. The Wookieepedia lists it as 43.9 meters, and every other piece of information seems to fit that size:

I looks to me to be as big as the Decimator, Large and nothing more.

Since it's half the size of the GR75 transport (90 m), it would be

smaller than the Falcon if made in either Huge scale which would be silly.

Kallus*, btw.

Yeah. We're expecting The Gozanti to be the Imperial Huge, and having it come alongside the TIE Advanced fix we all want. As for the Ghost, it's enormous and may very well be a huge ship in and of itself- I'd honestly not be surprised at ALL to see it done that way.

And I would be surprised because I'm sure they can do the math.

34.75 m /270 = 12.8 cm, 5 in

90.00 m /400 = 22.5 cm, 9 in

150.0 m /450 = 33.3 cm, 13 in

43.90 m /270 = 16.2 cm, 6.4 in

43.90 m /400 = 10.9 cm, 4.3 in

43.90 m /450 = 9.75 cm, 3.8 in

43.9m is the Legends entry, 63.8m is the new canon entry. At 1/400 scale it's 15.95cm, 6.27in

You think you could add your Imperial Gozanti and DP20 to this comparison?

Well... this is what they would look like if they were the same scale:

The Ghost is going to be tricky, but I still think the Gozanti has a good shot at the Imperial "huge" ship - price it like the Transport, but give it two TIE Fighters (vs the one X-Wing the Transport had) and you should be alright. Be the first 'huge' ship in scale with the regular fighters, but...I don't see a particularly significant problem with that, the two scales are not THAT far apart, anyway...

Thanks, and if you feel like it, the side view would be cool also. 15273709299_9654286862_o.jpg

:)

I think IF they make the Ghost, they will:

A. Just make it as a Large ship with the scale changed.

B. Make it a Huge ship with the Phantom as a fighter.

But I think It would be weird if it was a Huge ship. It doesnt move or act as a huge ship.

Please no ships from rebels except maybe Gozanti. ( I like the show, but I like EU ships better than the new ships). And we probably won't get them. The FFG developers said they would only do rebel stuff if they thought they were really cool.

Yeah looking at those images no way in hell is the Gozanti big enough to be the imperial epic ship.

Big enough for a rebel transport equiv.

Matter of opinion? Do you honestly like those obese Ties over Tie Defenders, or Imperial Star Giraffes TM over Imperial Star Destroyer Mark 2s?

EDIT: We haven't seen enough ships to make that opinion irrevocable, but from what I've seen, I will stick with the EU. It's not that I don't like the Ghost, but it isn't as iconic to me as say the Otana.

I thought that last bit you wrote was in reply to that Lackwit comment.

What's the Otana from? I've only ever heard it mentioned on this forum. I stopped reading star wars books and comics after the Phantom Menace, but since I started playing X-Wing I downloaded some rogue squadron and other dark horse star wars comics. Do you have any good recommendations?

The Otana is actually from the video game X-wing Alliance:

http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Otana (Srry I don't know how to post pics)

I highly recommend the X-wing novels by Michael Stackpole and Aaron Allston. Legacy of the Force is also a good series, and of course, the Thrawn Trilogy by Timothy Zahn is a must.

NOPE,

people put your brains in gear, a third rebel huge ship

before any S&V huge or Imperial huge is absurd (It's called Star Wars REBELS ).

Ghost is about as likely to be a huge ship as to not be a rebel ship, not likely at all.

As has been made abundantly clear Ghost would have to be made

IN THE SMALL SHIP SCALE to make sure it's bigger than the YT-1300!!

made in a the same scale as the GR75 it would be SMALLER THAN THE FALCON!!

YT-1300 ................ 34.75 m /270 = 12.8 cm, 5 in

GR-75 Trasport ..... 90.00 m /400 = 22.5 cm, 9 in

CR90 Corvette ...... 150.0 m /450 = 33.3 cm, 13 in

Ghost .................... 43.90 m /270 = 16.2 cm, 6.4 in

Ghost .................... 43.90 m /400 = 10.9 cm, 4.3 in

Ghost .................... 43.90 m /450 = 9.75 cm, 3.8 in

CR90 should be almost double the length of the mini FFG made

(21.87 inches versus 13.12 inches) so YES they are that far apart.

BTW YwingAce...

THEY ARE RLY COOL! LEGO (IF you don't know what that is I will face palm a million times) thought they were. They made sets for them! Why ya hatin' on the awesome ships?

In the A New Dawn book it says she can fake the Ghost's registry on the fly so it appears to be a different ship on radar or whatever they use for that in Star Wars, so it's not a TIE Phantom style cloacking device it's something different. Admittedly very bloody brazen sneaking back onto the same Star Destroyer that they blew up a ship in it's hanger hours earlier. As for how the ship could be different to the other rebel turret ships, I think the ghost could have a front and back arc like the firespray since it has front and rear gun stations and a turret upgrade slot for blaster turret for the roof gun, that would limit it's turret shots to range 2. I admit though that the ship is pushing what can fit comfortably on a large base but I just can't see it working as an epic ship, you see the ghost doing K-turns and stuff

It's something that has been around in the star wars books/lore for a while. basicly in it's most simple form think of it as changing the license plate on a car. It's not a cloak or anything like that. It's just a different name or ID for the ship. Han did the same with the Falcon sometimes and Lando did with the Lady Luck.

I would love to see 2 versions of the Gozanti. One for Scum and Villainy (since we see them use it in Clone Wars) and an Imperial version with 1 or 2 Ties included (maybe doing an Aces version of them).

There are 3 new ships in Rebels so far.

1.) Ghost: It isn't super bad, but it is basically a larger and bulkier falcon. I'd much rather see the Otana

2.) Imperial Star Giraffe : ugly ugly ugly

3.) Tie Obese: just no

LEGO also made sets of gungans.

Don't forget the Phantom.
