New Star Wars Rebels Ships?

By Rebel23, in X-Wing

I think it would be totally awesome (and pretty likely) if they made ships from the new Disney XD show: Star Wars Rebels. I've never seen the imperial cruiser they showed in the movie for the show on Disney Channel, so is that from the expanded universe? Is it in the movies and I don't see it? Either way, they should do it. Also they could make The Ghost , a Rebel ship that would be a large ship on this scale. As well as The Phantom , another rebel ship that would be small. Not to mention all the new upgrades they could bring in. Agent Callas and the Inquisitor could be Imperial crew members and People like Zeb, Hera, Sabine, Ezra, and the Jedi guy could be new pilots and crew for rebels. And Chopper could be a new astromech. What do you think?

Kallus*, btw.

Yeah. We're expecting The Gozanti to be the Imperial Huge, and having it come alongside the TIE Advanced fix we all want. As for the Ghost, it's enormous and may very well be a huge ship in and of itself- I'd honestly not be surprised at ALL to see it done that way.

Your referring to the Gozanti, the ship that carried the 4 TIE fighters underneath it? It did have a cameo or two in the movies. It can be seen briefly in Phantom Menace behind the group as they enter Mos Espa and I think there is another brief glimpse of it somewhere in the films. It was also shown prominently in a few episodes of the clone wars.

Some flavor of Gozanti is the leading contender for an Imperial huge ship if they ever get around to announcing one.

As much as I'm digging the VCX-100, what role will it play among the Rebel ships that aren't already filled by another ship?

And what's this talk about an Imperial Huge Ship? Imperials getting a huge ship is just plain silly.

Yes, the Gozanti will be released. But it won't be on a huge base. And it won't be on a large base. It will be called the large plus.

This is honestly fairly likely, if you ask me. I don't know if large can honestly sustain it.

It's already been mentioned about the Gozanti not being new. But I would certainly but a vcx-100 and Gozanti.

For the record, if the Ghost gets released I'm buying it.

Yeah when u think about it the Ghost was pretty darn huge.

Bytheway... In case this topic goes back to what the title says.

The problem with the Ghost is that it would be slightly too big for the game. The Wookieepedia lists it as 43.9 meters, and every other piece of information seems to fit that size:

Since it's half the size of the GR75 transport (90 m), it would be

smaller than the Falcon if made in either Huge scale which would be silly.

34.75 m /270 = 12.8 cm, 5 in

90.00 m /400 = 22.5 cm, 9 in

150.0 m /450 = 33.3 cm, 13 in

43.90 m /270 = 16.2 cm, 6.4 in

43.90 m /400 = 10.9 cm, 4.3 in

43.90 m /450 = 9.75 cm, 3.8 in

It'd almost have to be, given how much punishment it takes in the film. Three TIE Fighters opening fire at it, point blank range, while it was on the GROUND (IE., surely no evade tokens or rolling any evade dice)...getting a pile of direct hits...and not even taking the shields down?

That thing has some *serious* plot armor...

If we go by XWMG rules it's pretty astounding. If we go by X-Wing rules it's 1000000% expected.

...although, after typing that...I mean, there is nothing in the Empire with more than 5 shields. The Empire seems to like hull, and keeping the shields minimal when present (even the Decimator, with 16 total defense to chew through, only has 4 of those in shields - the B-Wing has more than that!) The Rebels pretty regularly go the other wa.

If we were to presume the Ghost is Decimator-scale, but sticks with the Rebel preference for closer-to-equal-hull-and-shields than the Empire...the same 16 in defense would mean 8 hull/8 shields. Even at point-blank range (firing 3 dice each), against a target that ISN'T rolling evades or having evade tokens...3 TIE Fighters would have to be rolling reasonably above-average to have been able to punch through the shields, after all. 8 hits-or-crits on 9 dice, even if they were 'focused' (and I'm guessing not, given their...uhhh...let's call it a K-turn to come into arc), would be pretty long odds...

Have you seen the size of shield generators.. lol.

Even the Falcon had a nonstandard shield generator, so there is precident for good shield strength.

I expect the ghost to have absolutely no evades. It isn't that nimble of a ship at all. However, Hera mentioned a code scrambler. Considering the ship got into the hangar of a Star Destroyer- past their sodding defenses... Oh, and just prior, blew up the hangar of one or another...

...The Ghost has some impressive Electronic Warfare going on. I imagine any VCX-100 in XMWG would need to rely in system slots to stay alive very long, and not just defense.

Definitely have to agree with this. Just watching the Ghost pull away from the landing pad on Kessel from a standing start you could see just how it's lacking in the agility department.

In the A New Dawn book it says she can fake the Ghost's registry on the fly so it appears to be a different ship on radar or whatever they use for that in Star Wars, so it's not a TIE Phantom style cloacking device it's something different. Admittedly very bloody brazen sneaking back onto the same Star Destroyer that they blew up a ship in it's hanger hours earlier. As for how the ship could be different to the other rebel turret ships, I think the ghost could have a front and back arc like the firespray since it has front and rear gun stations and a turret upgrade slot for blaster turret for the roof gun, that would limit it's turret shots to range 2. I admit though that the ship is pushing what can fit comfortably on a large base but I just can't see it working as an epic ship, you see the ghost doing K-turns and stuff

And I would be surprised because I'm sure they can do the math.34.75 m /270 = 12.8 cm, 5 in90.00 m /400 = 22.5 cm, 9 in150.0 m /450 = 33.3 cm, 13 in43.90 m /270 = 16.2 cm, 6.4 in43.90 m /400 = 10.9 cm, 4.3 in43.90 m /450 = 9.75 cm, 3.8 in

Well... Yeah. I never said it was a cloaking device. :/

F-22s have amazing stealth but you can still see 'em. (whatever good that does anyone.)

Please no ships from rebels except maybe Gozanti. ( I like the show, but I like EU ships better than the new ships). And we probably won't get them. The FFG developers said they would only do rebel stuff if they thought they were really cool.

As if they don't think The Ghost is cool.

I honestly don't really like the Ghost.

Here's an amusing idea...

What if the Ghost *does* come out, Decimator-sized, but...not for the Rebels? They like to think of themselves as 'good guys', but they are basically mercs. And if Chopper isn't a "salvaged astromech", I don't know what is...

I'd laugh if that happened.

I'd rather have the Otanna
