Fine tunning rebel BEAZ Squad

By polmoneys, in X-Wing

The core of the squad is Keyan + AZ. AZ are chaos agents and blockers, taking TL most of the time.

At first was Roark instead of AZ but I like how the four models look on the table + 4 ships instead of 3 .

To the point: I'm playing with a named E-Wing as 4th ship because Keyan is such a thread that Ethan or Corran can survive into late game.

With Corran on board we get better PS and double shots while having some 'boost' on defense to help him get to end game. No PTL so Rebel Captive and Tacticians aren't terrible to face. I've flown this list twice against Phantoms 1-1.

Keyan Farlander — B-Wing 29
Veteran Instincts 1
Advanced Sensors 3

Corran Horn — E-Wing 35
Veteran Instincts 1
Fire-Control System 2
R7 Astromech 2

Bandit Squadron Pilot — Z-95 Headhunter 12

Prototype Pilot — A-Wing 17
Chardaan Refit -2

With Ethan around AZ become more of a threat and Keyan can deliver even more pain. PS is lost agains Phantoms and Hans so upgrades are geared to get some extra mobility with AdS and R7-T1 ( AdS -- > TL -- > boost --> K-TURN )

Keyan Farlander — B-Wing 29
Veteran Instincts 1
Advanced Sensors 3

Prototype Pilot — A-Wing 17
Chardaan Refit -2

Bandit Squadron Pilot — Z-95 Headhunter 12

Etahn A'baht — E-Wing 32
Veteran Instincts 1
Advanced Sensors 3
R7-T1 3

So, what do you think ? which one seems more balanced on paper? and within current meta?

TIA

I like the first one, though I'm not a huge fan of R7, so I might consider dropping those two points and putting something else there. My personal opinion would be R3-A2. If you're facing a whisper, she will likely take init so she can recloak before Keyan (unless your opponent realizes the game you're going to be playing). As such, both Keyan and Corran move afterwards and can readjust with BR to make sure they have a shot. Then Corran stress bots Whisper on his PS10 shot, she shoots back at whomever, but now that she's stressed, can't take a free cloak action. So Keyan gets to return fire at PS9.

Even if your opponent realizes that's your goal and gives you init so Keyan can't adjust, you still have a non-cloaked Phantom, which means no decloak the following turn, which means it's easier to predict. Furthermore, it means that you're moving your PS1 and PS2 blockers first. You still win!
