Is it just me, or are the new ancient ones in the expansions just keep getting harder and harder?
Real hard of MY sanity
I don't have innsmouth yet. Just curious: Has any AO surpassed Atlach Natcha in terms of sheer difficulty? I have never actually defeated it, I'm embarrassed to say.
I think they are making them more difficult in each expansion, although of course everyone's experience of the game is different.
For instance, I don't think Atlach-Nacha is particularly tough. My regular group has beaten him a few times (never by sealing, though, although we have come close). The only Innsmouth AO I've seen so far has been the one from the previews, and that looked waaaay nastier than Atlach.
In terms of "punching them" at the end? Yeah, probably.
In terms of Slumber Ability? Oh, I don't know. Zhar could sleep all game. Ghatanothoa and Quachil merely require you to "spin the cylinder and pull the trigger". That's not really "hard", and I don't think Ghata strategies are any worse on Clue gathering than Hastur's or Yibb's.
Your mileage may vary, but I think there's just some gleeful overreaction going on. We're all trying to get our eyes back in our skulls after such a blockbuster fulfillment of two years worth of anticipation. Well played, FFG...darn well played.
