Why does Insightful Revelation add a setback die?

By TrueMisfit, in Star Wars: Edge of the Empire RPG

I noticed that the Insightful Revelation talent from Far Horizons has an option to add a setback die, my question is why?

I saw this talent on the printable talent trees and do not own said book, so if this adds some effect that is not listed on the tree I have I would appreciate someone telling me this.

Or...you (or someone in your gaming group) could buy the book?

Helpful people are helpful:

The Talent Tree is in error. There is no such "add a Setback die" as part of the Signature Talent's ability. Remove Setback, add Boosts, but no "add Setback".

Pirates are pirates.

What's your point?

:)That's a bit harsh. A true pirate would have downloaded the full file and wouldn't need to ask the question.

Yeah it was more of a direct response to the quoted poster...

I've got a physical copy of Far Horizons right here. I don't have a physical copy of F&D (and won't till the Core is released).

Edit: were you in the closed Beta testing for F&D?

Good for you. Glad to see you are supporting the game now!

Mea culpa: I should have perhaps been more clear.

I had the distinct impression that you would never purchase any of FFG's products because you disagreed with them and didn't wish to support their model.

I strongly dislike the model they're using for their RPG books and LCGs (and the X-Wing Game)... but I strongly support what they're doing in the Board Game arena. I've bought new versions of Talisman, Arkham Horror, and Mansions of Madness from them** and am pushing money into a pile to grab some others they are now producing (Cosmic Encounters, Civilization, and Twilight Emperium... and possible some others).

* Or hypocritical. I'm willing to accept that criticism of my philosophy.

** Stunning production work, but then even in the areas I criticize FFG in, they still have incredible production values. Just beyond other board game producers.

I wasn't even engaged with the FFG community until just as my GM's game was wrapping. I got involved here to float various house rules and to see where the rules were stumbling blocks for others as I'm gutting the chargen section and rebuilding how Talents are purchased (no Spec Trees/Careers in my game).
