Suggestion: [Official Response] Tag

By Buhallin, in X-Wing Rules Questions

Someone up in the Keyan response thread asked how to find emails from FFG that have been relayed. We all know it can be tough to dig them up, so why don't we try and make it a little easier?

If we get an official response from FFG, post it in a new thread. Copy it into whatever ongoing discussion spawned it too, or just link it, but let's put them in their own threads and title it with [Official Response]. That would make them easy to see, and searchable.

Might make things a little easier on our end, for everyone.

Or how about just one official response thread? We could have our own community FAQ. If nobody else does it within the next day or so, I'll make a thread myself for everyone to compile their email responses in.

I like the one, official response, thread idea. So long as anyone who posts in it does an adequate job of explaining the initial question it would keep all the responses in an easy to use location and we could regularly bump it to the top without difficulty.

Anyone want to dredge up the currently outstanding issues and create the thing?

Putting it all in one thread may make it difficult to reference. I doubt the search function would catch it, and when (not if) people start commenting in it, it's going to produce a lot of false positives and become of limited value.

That is, unless WW (or whoever the Original Poster is) becomes a psuedo-mod and continually edits the first post.

Nah just put the [Official Response] tag as the name of the thread and people can just search for that. Or just have it stickied at the top. If that's even possible on these forums. Then make each ruling a separate post and let people scroll through them leisurely to read up or use control-f to find the specific card they're looking for.

I was planning on it.

I think a repository of any and all email responses is a great idea. To avoid it getting too long and hard to search through, if we try and keep JUST the explanation, question and response in there and then link to it in it's own discussion thread, I think it would be really workable.

If we could get a moderater to pin it to the top of the list, even better.

Good idea guys. Now I have a spot to put all my responses. Created thread. (sorry WW if I stole your thunder but it was a good idea)

That tag is a good idea.

Can a moderator make that thread stick to the top of the list, please?
