Is discard deck viable tactic

By darklogos, in UFS Deck Building

I was looking at Dan and Dan's card and there is a lot of dicard. I was wondering if forcing your opponent to loose throug discarding their entire deck viable or not? If not can you let me know why.

If you mean mill then yeah it's viable, although it has to be a little unorthodox. Gone are the days of characters built specicially to mill (that are good).

Some characters to look at when building a Mill deck are:

Promo Bishamon (off Earth/Evil)- He has built in mill (whenever you make a control check to PLAY A CARD your opponant checks of their deck instead).

Pack Hugo (off Earth/All)- Mill's best friend at the moment is the card Antisocial out of the Realm of Midnight set (a not hard to find uncommon). It forces your opponant to draw lots of cards.

Promo/Pack Morrigan- She's just beastly, and while the Promo one has built in mill (albeit crappy), the pack one has more health and the ability to copy forms/enhances all at the cost of commiting a foundation and paying costs. Prime example is Ira Spinta. If they Spinta you, you react with Morrigan and Spinta them back. She also packs Good and Water, which has all of Lu Chen's card pool flooding from Shadowwar. In my opinion the new mill cards.

Some people say pack Zangief from Domination is good, but I think he's too slow personally.

A more off the wall mill character is Starter Yoshitora from Cutting Edge. He has Good (so he gets Lu Chen's stuff and Antisocial), and has built in card pool flooding.

Now if you mean discard as in discarding their hand (which from the reread of your post I think you may) then it's viable, although you have to be VERY carefull if folks are packing the anti discard cards. Basically larger handsize characters that have Earth, Evil, or Void can be considered decent discard characters to run Ways of Punishment and Glare of the Abyss. Same goes with characters with All and Death who can run Dan's stuff.

Cheers

I was looking to win to make a person dicarding their deck and going through it.

Then yeah that's mill. See my above post for what I think are good mill characters.

Can Maxima, Chae, or Gen be used to mill effectively by using healing with -damage cards.

Well you can always mill with any high health charachter.. but that's basicly just stalling for time until your oponent runs out of cards

But promo bishamon and the domination attack Flying power bombs action side is a very effective way of cutting through you oponents deck. + he checks from you opponents deck, making them discard alot of card while your deck is untouched

Looking at the current meta I dont' see how All by itself can survive without damage mitigation of some kind. I'm still learning how to do it.

as shown by antigoth, us airbase+multi-hobbyist+self confidance is good mill, just a little restrictive. if you are willing to build an 80 card deck flashy legwork+deadly ground is good mill. promo bishimon is also good mill but slightly slow.

Mono All ya can't really do much. But All/Earth Hugo is HILARIOUS! Plus All has Zangief's damage redux.

all can survive well thanks to chester's, controller of souls and brt. unfortunetly all can't realy mill. as b-rad said earth/all hugo can mill (and survive) all does have antsocial for mill, but thats all.

Thanks all. I ran my mill/agro hybrid deck today using Chae. I did good until I hit rejection. Rejection knocked all my damage to one. I used High plasma beam and it kept getting gorgeus team/rejectioned. So I couldn't kill and my opponent couldn't kill me because I could knock damage down and heal so much.

Well, a no memories and a kungfu training will make it alot harder for them to get their rejections through

My no memories got tapped consistantly. or used up before the rejection drop.

I have a mill deck made with Zangeif, and he is a beast... he works better than you think.

I believe Omar is running a Gief mill deck which is ****** everyones souls and won MCII and some said favorite to win nationals... but who knows... who knows
