is it just me or is the fact that the map that is on the back of the boad the same one from the base game strike anyone else as kinda lame?

As far as I know there wasn't another map from TOY, the Novgorod map should only have been printed on one side. It's a bonus that they redid the Kziaz castle map (it's much brighter), and it's now possible to play on two maps at the same time, basement and Kziaz.

I can inform you that Daedalus will have the same problem. The Daedalus map is printed on one side and the Kziaz basement map on the other, so you'll be disappointed again come that expansion.

So to answer your question, Lame, Yes. But not a biggie in my book.

Especially when pretty much every other board game is single sided.
