Finish This List!

By Corellian Corvette, in X-Wing

Just a social experiment, wanted to see how people would complete a list with these requirements:

B-Wing (x2)

-E2 Mod

-Tactician

-Ion Cannon

Using 2 b-wings that dish out ion tokens and stress tokens, how would you finish this list?

You could not touch the b-wings at all, and have 44 points left to spend, or you could upgrade them to named b-wings with ept's. I just want to see what you guys do with these requirements. It will be interesting!

For example:

2 B-wings:

-E2 mod

-Tactician

-Ion Cannon

-Fire Control System

-Flechette Torpedo

1 B-wing, Nerna:

-E2 mod

-Recon Specalist

-Dead Eye

-Flechette Torpedo

-Flechette Torpedo

99 Points. Would like to upgrade the blues to daggers to make the card art match, but that seems to matter less right now. (I did all the math in my head, so I may be off by a bit.)

How will you guys go about making lists like this?

Dagger Squadron (x2)

-Ion Cannon

-B-wing E/2

-Tactician

Etahn A'baht

-Advanced Sensors

-Predator

-R2 Astromech

99 points

Etahn can make the B-wings regular attacks hit harder once the ion's have done their jobs, and PS4 B-wings are always preferable to PS 2's

Hmm, an e-wing, I like it. Does Etahns ability cause the ion cannons to cause criticals? I don't think so, but here's hoping!

Nope, because after all the dice are done, you cancel all dice results, then deal 1 damage and 1 ion token. The only way to make an ion cannon crit is put it on Rexler then flip the damage card with a focus token.

I had another thought about the list a moment ago:

3x Dagger Squadron (24)

-Ion Cannon (3)

-Advanced Sensors (3)

-B-wing E/2 (1)

-Tactician (2)

99 points

Or

2x Dagger Squadron (24)

-Ion Cannon (3)

-Advanced Sensors (3)

-B-wing E/2 (1)

-Tactician (2)

1x Dagger Squadron (24)

-Heavy Laser Cannon (7)

-Advanced Sensors (3)

100 points

All 3 B-wings are PS4, have the ion/stress combo, and have advanced sensors. 3 ships will likely have issues against fat falcons, and low PS will have issues with phantoms, but at this point everything has problems with falcons and phantoms, so that point's moot. In this version of the list, the first shot can go for control with the cannon, and subsequent shots can use primaries for damage. If targeting a large ship and you want to ion it, use the first two shots for control and the third for damage. The variant trades one of the control ships for a heavy damage cannon.

My favorite Corran build is 44 points. Ptl FCS r2d2. But I think you would suffer from swarm vulnerability on the B's.

So I'd say Blount with assault missiles and a green squadron with ptl and refit.

Thanks for all the input guys! Keep it coming!

The 3 identical b's would be interesting, and I wouldn't of thought to use blount with this layout either. Very interesting.

Biggs and Cracken wouldn't be too bad. Cracken can block whisper decloak anyways.

Guys, I need a favor. Forget about this thread. Forget about these ideas. If you don't know about them, good.

These ideas are far more potent than I realised.

We must stem the outbreak! No more b's with Ion Cannons, Tacticians, and Fire Control Systems. Falcons people can deal with. Phantoms people can deal with. Biggs people can deal with.

This? This is madness.

No kidding. I just played this twice yesterday, my 2x Dagger Ion 1x Dagger HLC combo, and it won both games.

One game was close, against Garven, Jake, a Green, and a Blue, with various upgrades. I lost an IonB right away in the 2nd round of fighting, but then on the 3rd round both Garven and Jake went down and evened the score. The final saw a stressed 1 HP B-wing facing the wrong way and a stressed 3 HP A-wing facing the wrong way against my range 3, 2 shields left, focused HLC B, and 4 hits on the tokenless A-wing was the end of the game (his B couldn't turn to face mine, and I was just going to move up and blow it away next turn.)

The second game was the same list against a decked out Han Corran, and the 2-ship list stood absolutely no chance. Stressed Corran is really bad at arc-dodging when he continously bumps daggers to clear stress, and once Corran went down Han couldn't kill the two IonB's fast enough to prevent a fly-off. I did a mere 7 damage to Han before he left the game with all 3 B's still standing.

This is my new favorite list. It's terrifying.

Only time I lost with this was facing a swarm, and he had some brilliant maneuvers that threw me off guard. I use this list with Nera and it can handle phantom lists great.
