Hey guys-
I'm trying to come up with some custom pilots for a campaign I'm making and I thought of an untouched mechanism.
You can currently receive tokens without having taken the prerequisite action, or double up on tokens if you did take the action (via Kyle, Garven, Dutch, etc)
I can't think of an existing instance of this, but what if you could perform a boost via an ability. Not a boost action, but just a boost (like a free token from the example above). That way, you could potentially boost twice. Or boost with stress. How would you word that, and what effect do you think it would have on game balance?
For instance, imagine a TIE Interceptor that read: "During the end phase, if you have an unused evade token, you may perform a boost." Or barrel roll. Both (non)actions could be used in this manner.
To me, I wouldn't feel comfortable publishing that without being there to explain it to players. I'm not sure if anyone would pick up on the omission of "action" and think of it as being assigned a token.
Do you guys think this is a reasonable thing to add to a house rule campaign? Could this ever find it's way into the main game, or is it too wild of a mechanism?
I'm interested in hearing you guys weigh in.
