Video batrep: 8 TIEs vs Outrider Squad then VT-49 Decimator squad

By Stormtrooper721, in X-Wing Battle Reports

Well, my 8 Wave 0 Academy pilots went up against the latest enemies including a Heavy Cannon Outrider escorted by Z-95s and Jake Farrel and then against a VT-49 Decimator escorted by three TIE Bombers.

I can't believe the person to the left of you had 2 Decimators, that is hardcore!

I am somewhat surprised how one sided your first game was. I must say that I don't remember ever seeing anyone play Tie Fighters quite like you did, where I play usually people push forward or diagonally forward with them.

The second game was much more what I would have expected. Bringing Tie Bombers with a Decimator is a very interesting choice that seems to have a lot of potential. Unfortunately there was some confusion with that specific list: something had to keep the x2 Bombers with missiles alive long enough to have them fire, but the support ships were either another T/B (that the swarm can just ignore) and a Decimator on the other side of the board... so a bit of an awkward game.

Thank you for posting the battle report and for making the cool list images where you have all of the ships from the list together. I was very happy to see that the Decimator can't tank a Tie Fighter swarm (I wasn't sure if my piloting was bad or my observations were correct). Fortunately the Decimator can be upgraded enough to be able to survive a swarm.

I agree both games I didn't understand why the opponent had all his ships spread out. Why not take Lt. Blount with Assault missiles.

I screamed when I saw the Decimator in the Asteroid field.

Good games and thanks for sharing.
