Crusade of the Forgotten

By any2cards, in Descent: Journeys in the Dark

Any thoughts Zaltyre on whether Tahlias heroic feat and Guard can be used during the same monster movement? Been looking through my references and can't find a similar ruling to establish precedent one way or another..

During the same monster movement? Definitely. Off of the same trigger when entering the same space? I don't see why not, but if the monster died from the first attack, both costs would still have to be paid (heroic feat used, fatigue suffered.) They'd both have to be declared off the the trigger of the monster entering the space (at the same time,) and then the OL would decide which attack happened first.

The rule is that you cannot use the same ability twice or two separate abilities with the same name (like overlord cards) off of the same trigger, not that you cannot use two separate abilities off the same trigger.

so I was told that the mini has no face from factory so no replacement for me. Anyone else have a poorly cast tahila? Or a good cast of the model, please post.

Wow that sucks. So is it just Tahila or every heromodel? Maybe you could post a picture to show us how bad it really is.

What a pity I was looking forward to this hero&monster pack, but what's the point if the miniatures are bad quality

edit: I found a thread with pictures http://boardgamegeek.com/article/17190076#17190076

the mini-quality seems to be a let down :(

I am suppose to receive mine today. I received the high-res picture that DAMaz posted above. I really don't see an issue with the figures. What specifically with Tahlia's face is your issue? How much detail do you expect on something that is less than an inch high?

Any2cards I dont expect much detail, but a face would be nice. All the other minis have some form of mouth. To Damaz, it is just that one all the others are great. Even the Tahila sculpt as a whole is good. I want to see if any make a conversion out of it. I think some sort of veil with green stuff.

In your link Damaz you can see if you blow up the pic of Tahilia that the face is the only issue. I think if you place a cover this could resolve the problem. Overall like I think the rest are good.

You could always cut a mouth into it. I don't really notice much of a difference between these minis and the ones that have come before.

good to hear that tahilia's mouth seems to be the only issue.

As half of the fun of Descent is for me to paint these miniatures I was extremely hyped for crusade of the forgotten, because I liked all the miniatures and that maybe caused me to overreact, when seeing and hearing about yet another abscent face. (I'm still very disapointed in the quality of the Nerekhall hero-miniatures though, which could be a reason why I'm somehow pessimistic in this regard of new Descent hero-miniatures.)

Thank all of you for clearing this issue up for me.

I was glad to see that the hero figs were properly scaled for the base game and previous expansions. Oath of the Outcast showed some larger and heavier looking hero figs that are a bit out of style and scale with the older ones (try putting Laurel of Bloodwood next to base game hero figs), and I feared FFG were falling into the same trap as Games Workshop, making figures bigger and bigger to seem more impressive, but incompatible with old ones. Golems on the other hand could have used a size bump. All in all, very happy with this particular HMC.

When tahlia defeat a monster during overlord's turn , she gets 2 movement points . And she uses advance at the same time, which one must do first ?advance or use 2 movement points ?

or overlord choose ?

A hero can only use MPs on their turn. So her ability is useless on the OL's turn. This is different from Advance because the ability says "move up to your speed".

This is not correct. Heroes can indeed spend movement points on other player's turns. The only caveat, is that the movement points must be spent immediately after they are gained, or they are lost.

Should Tahlia be a Knight with Advance available and defeat a monster on the Overlord's turn, then the event of "defeating a monster" would simultaneously trigger Advance and grant her 2 movement points to spend immediately.

By my understanding of the timing rules, because it is the Overlord's turn, the Overlord gets to decide the order in which effects that happened simultaneously occur. Thus, either Advance resolves completely, then 2 movement points are used or vice versa, as the Overlord chooses.

Well...I feel dumb. Charmy is correct. I guess next time I'll consult the rules before answering any questions.

On a rather different note:

FFG should really think about locking old threads. I'm not really sure about anyone else, but it's kind of confusing seeing a whole new thread and then realizing that it's more then a year old.
