So I was thinking on how to get an E into a solid list and came up with 3 named pilots:
Garven
Wedge - predator
Corran - PTL, r2-d2
I figure corran can use R2 when getting rid of that stress and Garven makes everyone better with extra focus dice. Probably fly the X's together and Corran flanks.
Thoughts?
I ran something pretty much similar. I ran it this past weekend, and it was a lot of fun. I don't think it's very competitive, but I went unbeaten in our casual group where people play more for fun.

The problem is that Garven doesn't pass that Focus token until he uses it, usually when he shoots. And he shoots after Wedge & Corran.

Garven, upgraded with R2-D6 and VI would bump his PS to 8 to help out Corran. Otherwise yeah, the passed focus would only serve a defensive purpose against low PS enemies.
I almost always fly ptl Corran, but I might make that FCS vi instead. You need something else with more maneuverability to make interceptors and phantoms worry. Null Wedge just isn't enough, IMO.
Put R5-P9 on Horn so when Garvin passes the focus he gets the shield and doesn't have to do a green. I get he probably would anyways with PTL, but that saves a point and if you can find another one, FCS is golden on Horn
You could also consider switching R2D2 for R5P9 on Horn, saving a point, allowing you to switch Garven out for Jek w/ VI. Now you're running at 9 9 8. Or... Even better...
Keep Garven. Switch Predator for R7-T1, and put VI on Wedge, Switch R2D2 for R5P9 on Corran, keep PTL. Now Wedge can move last, and boost (plus get a TL). Corran can still regen shields, either through his own focus action, or from a token pass from Garven when he's in range. Note that often Garven's ability will likely be wasted.
I once tried this crazy list, and it worked pretty well.

I have also running an XXE list recently:
Biggs
+ R4-D6

It really puts the screws into my opponents' offense, particularly if they run very few ships.
If they can target Biggs, then their attack can deal a maximum of 2 [boom]s, as R4-D6 turns any extra uncanceled ones into Stress tokens instead, and I can shunt any [KABLAM]s off to the regenerating shields of Corran and Luke, where they will simply dissipate two at a time.
It's monstrous in the late-game
Once the 3-4 attacks of the 3-4 attack-dice pilots have lost their Biggs, the opponent is left with attacking Luke Skywalker and Corran Horn, both of which have shield regeneration and naturally good dodging skills. You're likelier to have killed more than 26 points of opponent's fleet while Biggs is still alive, so their fleet will also be at a numbers disadvantage as well.
It's excellent at picking where the fight occurs
If you go 1 Forward or 1 Bank for the first few turns, the opponent will be forced to come to you. If you can set up the Asteroids so this is advantageous, you have basically won already.
Alternatively, you can 4 Forward or 3 Turn/Bank to close the distance much more rapidly.
Even if you don't fly in formation, it's still a good offense.
Corran Horn with FCS, flying alongside X-Wings of High/Mid PS. You have a lot of damage to push through.
Biggs is also surprisingly good as a Blocker against Scum.
Look at all of the Scum threats of PS 6+. Biggs is PS 5. That matters surprisingly often.

Corran counters the whole metagame by himself, Luke cleans up in the end game.
I feel like this is in the wrong sub-forum though.
My first time playing someone else besides my son or brother was with Corran and 3 Rookie Pilots. I got my butt kicked but I really like how x and e's fly. I like your ideas. I might have to steal them.
