YT-1300p & YT-1300 variant title cards.

This is just a mental exercise for fun, no need to get you "knickers in a knot" over it, as the saying goes.

YT-1300p & YT-1300f variant title cards

So I was thinking of the YT-1300 and lamenting the formula they used to assign crew slots to ships, because I'd just like to have more crew on the Falcon, and then I realized that the Falcon is a standard YT-1300 with a few modifications, but there are other YT-1300 variants that are possible.

• There is the passenger version, YT-1300p, that has only quarters and no cargo space, and

• There is the freighter versions, YT-1300f, that has only cargo space and no room for passengers.

And it occurred to me that these might make for some interesting title card ideas.

The passenger variant is the obvious one, the title card would just add a crew slot.

But it was the cargo variant that threw my imagination for a loop.

There are currently 10 cargo upgrade cards that have come with the Rebel huge ships.

Backup Shield Generator
Comms Booster
EM Emitter
Engine Booster
Expanded Cargo Hold
Frequency Jammer
Ionization Reactor
Shield Projector
Slicer Tools
Tibanna Gas Supplies
So this just occurred to me now as I was typing this out, and I'm now wondering if there was a title card that allowed the use of one energy token and added one cargo slot to a large ship, which Cargo upgrade do you think would work with Han, Chewie, or Lando and why??

Interesting Ideas for sure. But even though logically it makes sense. A good amount of people will say the Falcon is way to overpowered now.

How much do you think this cargo upgrade would be?

Yeah if you start modifying existing cards too heavily itll majorly unbalance the game and it'll turn into Super Happy Friends as every takes bigger ships capable of taking a plethora of named characters to throw out crazy combo effects...

"Crew" and "passengers" are very different. Giving up cargo space for bunks doesn't mean there can somehow be more people in the cockpit doing something related to the piloting of the ship.

Variant Titles would be cool, though. They could be "Non-unique YT-1300 Only" -- keeps Han, Lando & Chewie as is (are?), but allows us to kit out the Outer Rim Smugglers in different ways for different roles. It kills me that aside from Anti-Pursuit Lasers, I can't equip a generic YT-1300 with any weapons upgrades -- even missiles.

Technically true passengers are not crew, but if you go by the formula of one slot for two crew (not my formula) the YT-1300 has room for more crew by number of stations and turrets. Three extra seats in the cockpit and two turrets, various stations around the ship, so I imagine even a team slot might be argued.

I think as the upgrade card pool grows it's going to be possible to make some wild combinations, and besides I should remind you three crew is already out there, the Decimator can have three crew.

Han Solo is one of the most expensive ships you can use, not counting Huge ships, the only match in starting points being the Decimator. I don't doubt that upgraded properly it's a powerful ship, but I know there are people out there capable of beating a Falcon build also, so I wouldn't say it's unequivocally overpowered.

Since it seems no one wants to play I'll take a look at the list myself:

Expanded Cargo Hold (1)

...GR-75 only

Tibanna Gas Supplies (4)

...Not at all useful in-of-itself on a ship that would need the slot to use the energy.

Ionization Reactor (4)

...Too energy expensive for a large ship.

Shield Projector (4)

...Similar to the EPT "Draw there fire" but to energy expensive.

Frequency Jammer (4)

...Another one of those that wouldn't work on a large ship, unless there were also a Jamming modification upgrade.

Slicer Tools (7)

...For 7 points and only being able to affect one ship it probably isn't worth it.

EM Emitter (3)

...Since there is now a modification for large ships that allows obstruction I could see it working.

Comms Booster (4)

...This one reads like a pilot ability, and would benefit the ORSs.

Backup Shield Generator (3)

...This would probably be the best cargo slot use so far for a large ship.

Engine Booster (3)

...Not exactly the same as Engine Upgrade and using both would make it "the fastest hunk of junk in the galaxy!" - Lando Calrissian.

As to the cost of the title cards, I don't think is should be zero like most, but any higher than 3 would be too much for the upgrades that are usable.

Forgot about the WED-15, with a YT-1300f title card that gave one energy it would work.

Except that it has a Huge ship restriction. Maybe something to add to the title.

If so then there are others
