Netrunner 4p singleton cube.

By BahnCalamari, in Android: Netrunner The Card Game

I am posting here to share my Netrunner Singleton Cube. It is meant to work differently than a netrunner draft in that you do not start with any agendas, breakers or anything else. You draft 4 packs of 10 cards each and build 30-40 card decks.

Agenda points are 14-15pts for 30-34 card decks and 16-17pts for 35-39.

Draft corp first then runner.

3 rounds of round robin to determine winner.

Interesting idea. I don't totally grok cubes, so I have questions.

Here's what I think you are describing:

1. The judge assembles the Corp cards in your list into a deck (the Corp cube).

2. Each player draws 10 cards from the Corp cube to draft from.

3. Drafting proceeds apace.

4. I build my Corp deck from the [PlayerCount x 10] cards I'm left with after the draft.

5. Repeat for Runner side.

If I'm getting it so far, here are my questions:

Question #1: I say [PlayerCount x 10] because I'm not sure how many players this provides for. Four?

Question #2: How do you deal outlier draws where insufficient agenda points are drafted? (This can also happen for the Runner if insufficient breakers are drafted).

In the original game, WotC created a rarity called Vitals to make sure that starter decks were playable, and I assume that FFG's drafting kits do the same thing.

Question #1: I say [PlayerCount x 10] because I'm not sure how many players this provides for. Four?

Yes, it is intended to be used for a 4 player draft. Each player would draft 4 packs of 10 cards per side. 16 packs total per side.

Yes, in the first official ANr draft starter kit you get 2x Armitage Codebusting, 3x Crypsis, 5x Priority Requisition, 2x PAD Campaign to build your decks with on top of what you draft. This ensures you always have enough agenda points and breakers but also makes reduces the urgency of drafting breakers and agendas. I wanted to create an environment where getting these cards would be important.

In this cube if someone did not draft enough agenda points they would be given agendas by the other players after their own decks are built. The givers choose which to give. There are 19 agenda points in my draft pool more than are needed for the decks so to not get at least the 14 required points would require serious negligence.

Likewise there are 38 breakers in the pool, 7 are AI. If you are not getting what you need you are just not trying.
