I don't have all the ships yet so I think my best bet for a competitive list is with the Empire. My rebel aces, Z, B, and Defender are still on order and my Decimator isn't tourney legal yet.

I like them both but your 2nd list I like more. I think it is good to have a ship to insure against thoes bad green dice

I like the second, but I'd swap seismic got Tactician or Mercenary copilot. Outmaneuver if you face a lot of b, shuttle, and falcons.

I'm not a fan of Kath, but I'd rather have a Firespray in the list. Interceptors can be fragile, as can uncloaked phantoms. Having a Firespray helps ensure long-term survivability. Maybe a loaded up Bounty Hunter, or, my personal favorite, Krassis + HLC if you can scrape up the points. If my math is right, you should be able to...Can't recall just how many he takes

I'll echo Mei's comment, on Kath especially Merc Co-Pilot can do wonders to make her ability more relevant.

Personally I'd go with a bounty hunter+recon specialist, and give Jax a Shield Upgrade, or a Hull Upgrade and a Gunner for the Firespray. It seems like you want the high pilot skill though, so that may not work.

I like your second list. One thing to consider is that you want to win the initiative bid if you are running high PS interceptors so that you can better your odds of arc dodging. With that in mind I have had success with the following list:

Fel + PTL

Jax + PTL

Bounty Hunter + Gunner

97 pts

With only 3 ships you want to make sure that they are hitting, hence the Gunner. 97 points is a strong PS bid, if you would rather gamble with initiative you can add seismic charge or even swap out Gunner with HLC.

Second list. I have nothing but love for flying a Firespray and a pair of squints.
